Finally a newb that did his homework! I like Wturber's recommendations, especially if you are a fit cyclist.

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Most Australians heat their homes with electricity? Here it's propane or natural gas. Natural gas is super cheap nowadays.[url][https://www.nmgco.com/Current_Natural_Gas_Rates.aspx/url] Gas was cheap here until the export marked exploded - now it's getting rather pricey. Natural gas producers would...

German's of course. It's an evil standard..lol But, you wouldn't want to hook up the wrong wires on a nuclear weapon?

DIN standards is what I used when I worked on nuclear rockets and it could work for ev's too. Not a fan of government mostly, but standardization is cool if you want to progress. Hell I can't even buy batteries for my tools that are standardized...LOL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_DIN_standa...

Drip irrigation can expand the crops being grown and conserve water. Already in NM there are incentives for farmers to grow with drip irrigation. That's how we grow wine grapes here that are very low water users...

Re: Parallel'ing balance leads???

To clarify, you do that when you want to balance only WB? That would make sense to me. I just wanted less crap hanging off the packs when running them. If you do have tons of space in the battery box, then its not a problem to have a big ass bundle of wire there. Much depends on the use pattern, mi...

Re: First post: Schwinn stealth S1000 mods

Yiyun makes a 60v 50amp brushed controller that would pep that thing up and fry the stock motor. Probably be fine for a long time depending on how much lipo you stuff in the thing.... :D

Hobby King sells parallel balance leads for different series batteries. I use a 6s, 4s, and 5s harness to balance charge multiple packs.

Re: Assembling a safe fast ebike

As we can see there are a lot of different factors when building a fast ebike. For me in a very rural area i would ride on side roads like a bicycle and then open up the speed on flat long terrain with very little traffic, but I always ride like a bicycle when in the city or heavy traffic. A 35 mph ...

Planning to take off a bit this summer, since I'm not chained to the E bikekit chat anymore. Van and trailer, with e bike, scoot, and a kayak. Let me know if yo...

Re: 105ah battery

Charging that big of a pack is also an issue. Even at 1500w that would take a while to charge safely. Maybe, two similar size packs would be easier to manage and you could have several smaller packs that you could use like reserve wh's?
