Motobecane Phantom DS with Cyclone 900w
This is a Motobecane Phantom Elite DS bike with a 900w Cyclone 3-chainring kit. I've managed to slap everything together so that I can blast around at 35mph but there are still some bugs to be worked out. I've got to find a decent spot to mount a controller, and I will probably be replacing the Head...

Re: Wanna see some typical ebike controllers?
It came with my Pegasus Power Systems 36v/22a hub motor kit. It is physically the same size as the e-crazyman 24v/18a controller next to it, except the mounting tabs were bent back to fit into the battery case that came with the kit. I think most of the controllers out there are using the same gener...

Re: NEW Tidalforce S-750 eBike frames/parts for INDIVIDUAL S
JD, thanks for the refund. I also want to say I appreciate and thank you for trying your best to get another frame packaged up and sent to me even if it didn't work out. The effort is still much appreciated. Here's some pics of what's become of my silver frame. It has the chainring, cranks, pedals, ...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
I sent Golden Motor an email about my wobbling new hub motor a week ago and haven't heard back yet. I think the bearings were pressed in crooked on both sides. In the 2nd video I demonstrated how the side cover spun crooked when turned by hand. With that side cover pulled out like it was previously ...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
Be careful if you decide it is good enough to ride. I had my Crystalyte 408 side cover fail , likely due to - a similar issue with poor bearing mount creating a cyclic load. - crapping casting quliaty, combined with - pedal force Eventually I had the bearing suddenly deattach from the side cover, w...

Ok, I got the cover off, and began to attempt to remove the circuit board from the clips inside the motor casing. I decided to take another look at that loose wire. I yanked on it to try to see what color wire it was, but as I pulled on it more, it became apparent that someone must of snuck in durin...

Ok I found this very useful and awesome post by rkosiorek loaded with pics by Bill Bushnell. Thanks Rick and Bill! http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8621&p=131210&hilit=cyclone+internal#p131210 I should be able to take the cover off and hopefully figure out which wire was pulled a...

Need some help with disassembling a 900w cyclone motor
IMGA0629.JPG I've got a loose wire coming out of my 900w cyclone motor. Unfortunately, this loose wire appears to be the one that contains many other smaller wires. I can see a few silver strands sticking out that are loose. I'm assuming these wires are for the hall sensors and the other 3 thick wi...

Re: Wanna see some typical ebike controllers?
I haven't worked my way up to big power yet, so I've just been dealing with these average controllers. My 900w cyclone kit is awesome, but as you can see the controller is at least 50% larger than the other controllers (unfortunately in the wrong direction) and its 100% heavier than any of the other...

Wanna see some typical ebike controllers?
I thought I'd share my small collection of brushless controllers for the family. From left to right, listed as what kit or who it came from: 1) Pegasus Power Systems 36v 22a??? I'm not sure on the exact current, but I can only guess its a 22A 2) E-crazyman 24v/18A 3) Lyen 24-72v/30A 4) Amped bikes a...

Re: Cyclone motor stopped working - cable problem?
That would apply to all motors that use the brake cutoff levers. You can easily test this out by disconnecting both of your brake levers from the controller. If you're getting power at the cyclone throttle with the blinking red lights, it usually means one of the following: 1) a problem with the bra...

Re: The Cyclone Thread. cyclone users report here!!
I have 2 cyclone kits. -360w 1-chainring kit on my 20" folding bike -900w 1-chainring kit, which is now a 3 chainring kit because I ordered the chainring assembly from Paco I've had both kits on my 20" folding bike and would say that a 500w single chainring cyclone would probably be the best setup f...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
I wanted to mention that it appears that a 9 speed freewheel would be a viable option for people who don't have a requirement to run a disc brake on the rear, and plan to lace their own wheels. On the disc side of the motor, there's a 9mm-wide nut that goes snugs up against the inside of your dropou...

[quote="mwkeefer"] 3.) Put it back in your dropouts and run it again, I can't tell for sure with that disc on the mount but it looks like the actual hub flange on the disc side has a bit of a bend in it (it appears that way in the beginning of the video)... Tightening the covers will take care of th...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
Kevin, I bought a V1 that did the same thing a couple months ago. I wasn't too happy about it. With the freewheel on, it showed up even more. It became a non issue for me after I installed it on the bike and found out the clutch was bad. It was a new motor ----- not a used one. I returned it to the...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
Kevin, Couple of things... 1.) The drive side cover is surely not flushed down... check the threads on those high areas (where it is noticable not sealed to the hub face) to be sure they haven't stripped (many times there are 1-2 which have stripped... I just force an SAE metal thread of slightly l...

Re: *video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal
Yeah this sucks. My new hub motor sounds like its got rod knock. I have no idea where the bearings are placed inside the motor, but if they're on towards the outside of the casing, I'd say the one on the drive side might be crooked. The drive side cover for the motor also doesn't appear to sit flush...

*video* New GM mini rear hub is wobbling! Is this normal?
Just got this Golden Motor mini rear hub this week. It seems to wobble like its got a bent axle or crooked bearrings. It doesn't sound like its running smoothly either...it lopes. Here's a video with the GM mini using an ecrazyman 24V/18A controller. It wobbles and sounds the same with or without th...
