Re: 30Q - 6p build... bike range disappointing - IDEAS?

Cold sure can hit range (capacity) hard.
Even Tesla, with their pack heaters suffer badly in severe cold.
There is a guy on this video with a Model 3 who says this cold weather has cut the range by more than 50%

Re: Aquatune - Convert Water to Hydrogen for $600 + $400 labor

I just ran across it while searching terms like "Mild Hybrid" where you leave the i.c.e. in tact so you can run on gas, then if you choose you can flip the switch and go 100% electric with vehicle in neutral. Hmmm ? ....that is not how a "Mild Hybrid " operates. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mild...

Re: Tesla powered (with Volt Pack) Honda Accord 0-60 2.7 seconds

The Volt has 2 motors , 111kW and 55kW.
Whilst i understand the total power is restricted to 111kW probably by the inverter , or more likely some software setting,... since there are many reports of software "hacks" to unleash more power.

Re: Tesla PEM heat sink material required

Is this an issue confined solely to the Roadster PEM for some unique combination of material and component choice ?
If it is common as it appears from that forum, I would have thought Tesla would be all over this with a upgrade program before they end up with a fleet of static cars !

Re: Tesla powered (with Volt Pack) Honda Accord 0-60 2.7 seconds

I just figured it was smaller/lighter, I didn't realise it also had a higher discharge capability. That must make it greatly over-specced in the Volt, . Why "over specced" ? At 16 kWh, even 15 C is only 240kW....not exactly excessive for a EV.... (And only for 4 mins !) And at its rated 7.5 C (for ...

This is an interesting graphic of Australias electricity prices (indexed) over time 1955 to date with some key events noted. Also the timing of the introduction of wind & solar in quantity starting 2005. But be aware , even the 18 TWh of RE shown is small compared to the 230+ TWh of total annual pow...

..But that is not adding to the overall hydro capacity available.
Hence the proposals for adding a lot more generation to existing dams.
Unless you have a suplus of water that you currently run through spillways, more generation will not increase total capacity (GWhs).

The Mitsi Outlander PHEV uses a 40 ah version of this cell 80s, 1p config..12 kWh.

Sure, more generation (of any sort) can help to conserve water supply for hydro.

That grid functioned perfectly well ( and cheaply) without a battery, until the levels of Wind and solar increased to over 50%. OK. Our grid functioned pretty well before batteries and renewables. Now it functions even better. Perhaps there are some lessons to be learned there? :?: Californ...
