Re: Adding Rohloff to my Yamaha E-Bike , good idea?

The Rohloff Speedhub is rated for at least 2kW, but it's important to observe the specified input torque limit. As long as you do that, I expect the hub will work fine for you. I have yet to see a Rohloff hub that has been anything but reliable. The worst behavior I've seen them exhibit is oil leak...

Re: Dogmans Longtail Beach Cruiser

I don't see any problems with your welds, they look good. I think the battery support did a lot to reinforce the backframe. Now I guess it won't break. Just bend  (in the rack area, if extremely loaded up) I would just try welding something to the tube the seatstay goes in, one straight tin...

Re: Dogman Dan's Trashrunner longtail

I think it's time to found the ugly bike club, just for fun, and for letting print some "ugly bike owners club" or similar stickers and / or patches.

Re: Dogmans Longtail Beach Cruiser

Love the look of it, really nice one, but unfortunately I guess it'll break. I don't see the "new" rear force-fitted to the main frame, all I see now are attachment points that will fold sooner or later. I hope I'm wrong and just haven't seen your statement about this and wish you a lot of fun trans...

If I could only afford that professional equipment I could log my 18650-packs, too.
Oh stop, my charger does logging, too.
Just have to find a software for that for Linux.

If you consider to mod one like friendly1uk supposed, try out red lighting, as this is the color which will

You are an electrician, how does this fact qualify you for electronics? Why do you always speak that rude to people that are interested in this ELECTRONICS-hobby? Why can all people here be happy about getting tips from you for free? It's an online-community here, giving tips free of charge is norma...

Re: Longtail from junk build thread

Flu seems coming to its end, could make a little progress today. Have to machine 2 torquearms, the old ones are very thin and won't fit right. But first everything has to be at it's place and work. Sorry for the pictures having a weird angle most time, but outside it's winter and inside the shop the...

Re: Free Useful Software...Really

Hello MarkZ, it is very uncommon for linux in general and debian-based distributions in special to crash. Maybe somethings wrong with your hardware. Ubuntu is, like written above, a Debian-based distribution, so you could try out a full Debian system. Another Debian based one is CrunchBang, http://c...

Re: Longtail from junk build thread

@ Dogman
I think the problem with my chainline were the widened dropouts in the rear frame, because
the ones in the front frame aren't wideable anymore.

Paint is dry and I guess looks ugly enough for what it should be.

Re: Longtail from junk build thread

Sorry for not posting the last few days, but I'm still fighting the flu. Before getting ill I managed to assemble the important things, mainly the drivetrain, and guess what, chain didn't clear the frame anymore  . So I put the frame on the anvil, a friend took the big hammer and now the chain...

Hello and welcome to the sphere.
Do you really mean 25 mph or kph?
What is your momentary bike, pictures?
What battery chemistry did you use?
Whats the problem with charging the existing battery?
How big is the existing battery?
You see, we need more input.

Re: Damaged OSET 20

Sure, that motor looks fried to me.

Edit:
The question is: Why
At which circumstances?
On a hill, in the wet or perhaps after a downfall?

Does this motor have a fan cooling? Perhaps it sucked some debris in.
Are the bearings ok?

At that 350W figure I guess the controller gets a bit warm, not hot.
