Re: portable air compressors for tires

https://www.ebay.com/i/253237165814?chn=ps This is the one I'm in love with. NOT cheap, but at the black Friday sale it can be. Useless of course, if you don't already have the Ryobi drill, and have the battery and charger. A bit bulky to carry, but when you know you are heading out with a leaker, ...

portable air compressors for tires

There are lots of cheap portable 12V portable compressors for lowing up tires, and there are even a few for 48V - 60V. What's the difference that makes them suitable for the higher voltage- is it just a series resistor? Reason is I generally run at 36V so would like to convert a 12V to run on a 36V ...

Re: Show Us Your Homemade Battery Housing

More good ideas. I love the diversity of things that people come up with. My batteries go at the back because my bike has a step-through frame and I can't put anything in that space- I need it to get onto my bike because I can't lift my legs high enough to get over a crossbar. As time has gone on I ...

Re: XPD: open-source keywin e-bike lab replacement

The problem is that these are not mass production items- you'd need something that is mass produced then you lose the nice things such as that programmable settings can be customised to your individual desires. You can get lower priced controllers closer to your vision but you get what they make and...

Re: EMC-2000 charger from ecity (1500 to 2000W)

Do you have an electrical tester? You really need one to to sort this kind of thing out, an inexpensive one is all you need. simple checks first, faults can often be simple and hopefully yours is. unplug the charger. Try simple continuity First check the positive battery wire - check from the pin on...

Re: Crystalyte X5 axle, who wants one?

Yeah, I'd be interested too- a quality one would be good- and as said Crystalyte can't supply them. I'd like one that's longer than standard too- an extra 10 - 20mm thread length would be nice. When researching sites I came across one that said the front and rear axles were the same but I'd always t...

Re: Crystalyte X5 axle, who wants one?

The threads on my front are also poor- the major diameter on mine is smaller than the standards specs on both sides, with one side worse than the other. I tried Crystalyte but they couldn't supply them, they'd probably have been poor anyway. In the end I used nyloc nuts - there seemed to be 2 differ...

[quote="Powervelocity.com"]There are a couple of tricks how to minimize the risk of pulling the solder pads from the PCB after soldering wires onto them. Re: 15F/18F SW/Silent Controller 36-150V BT-Android/GPS-$179

Hands up, I did the low voltage mod. I can verify it worked for me but those pads are small so be careful when soldering. I have 2 of these controllers, I ran wire from each pad on one to make it switchable. The other I screwed one pad up (soldered ok but somehow managed to pull one of the wires pul...

Re: EBike Toolbox - Bargains! $

I grudgingly note a 1000w front drive ... though I view as being unsafe for the inexperienced rider?! I've never had a rear wheel drive bike, my front Crystalyte 5300 normally peaks at 2KW and is fine, if I connect batteries in series rather than parallel it's 4KW which starts to get a bit scary. I...

As an update- the new feet did lift one of the wheels up slightly when deployed at first but it didn't last long. Both wheels and both feet touch all the ground at the same time. The pretty black coating peeled off a year ago revealing the aluminium with white corrosion. It seems the aluminium used ...

Re: 18F Sino/Silent 36-120V Controller VAR.REGEN/Progrm/GPS-

what needs to change in the program in order to achieve maximum speed? you could use the ebikes.ca simulator to determine the theoretical best speed- that'll give you the current to set your controller at for your voltage. eg 72V 30A, check speed, then again at 35A. If speed is higher try 40A. If s...

a phone charger project (-not even sure if this is the right thread for it). I'm not sure how practical it would be as you can add a usb outlet from your battery and it wouldn't be a massive load, but this would be less of a load! And cheaper than the $112 ( ) one it references on ebay. Bicy...

He programmed mine as I asked, but I had to change some settings straight away, but it's easy. It may take a couple of goes to get the button press timing right, but its easy enough- you just need the cable.
