Re: bluetooth BMS?

bres55 that's great info, but as far as i understand this, this is "only" communicaiting with the BMS, the same way the android and pc app do it?! so it's not a try to reprogram the CPU? as this is something that would be really usefull. imho this BMS is really capable, but not the way it works righ...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

@flippy: afair you have a different version BMS than i have. 15s and 20s are not the same type. there may be different programming inside. but still i'd be interested in long term voltage drop of any BMS here. maybe you guys could tell us how much voltage drops within a week. if you ever don't use y...

Joku that lipo has a decent continuous C rate yet a tiny burst. The burst is the only thing that matters.
We need Big amps for thick strips.
Can you recommend a battery to me?
The more Ah and the more C the better. 3s 4000mAh+ and REAL 50c+ are fine. Hobbyking Graphene are a great choice.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

did you not read that the bms has a physical off button? Did you read the whole thread? If so you may have noticed that i discovered and tested the K1 connector which serves as an on/off switch. Still, the BMS draws way too much power in power off state. It was off for a week now and voltage of my ...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

its not that hard to simply put it at 3.6v and disconnect the -B line or remove the balance connectors (that remoces the + line for the bms power) for long term storage. a battery pack is a expensive thing, you need to take care of it if you want it to last. i will NOT remove power leads and stuff ...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

Slighty more ontopic: If you want to keep the bms from cutting out the bluetooth you can, The bluetooth dies when there is no current flow. On itself that is fine for most people but i would like to see the bms settings when it is done charging the next morning without having to turn on the control...

Re: Bestechpower BMS

i don't see a need for special connect/disconnect order.
if you only disconnect B- at any time, there is still a connection to most negative cell of the pack by the first balance wire.
if you disconnect the balance wires at all and have the main power leads connected the BMS doesn't care about it.

Re: KONA Entourage Build Thread - middrive (pic heavy)

short update: the rc lipo was replaced by 18650 lion cells. 150 of them. the pack is divided in two 15s5p packs. one on each side, and it's a perfect fit. capacity has grown from around 890Wh to 1620Wh. so a real range of 50km is doable. here is the thread for the battery build: https://endless-sphe...

Re: MAC motor temperature sensor - best way to read

i do. 63V 15s li-ion. and i use FOC with 45A. so rpm goes REALLY high.
eddy current losses also depend on you lamination's thickness. thinner is better. old MACs have 0.5mm newer ones 0.35mm.
no load power loss is about 200W with my situation. so around 3A @63V.

Re: bluetooth BMS?

in the high quality range ? define that please. i've got no issues with the chinese bms we're talking about here. there are higher rated versions as well, and you can set the cutoff voltage, balance voltage, shunt value and discharge current cut off to (more or less) whatever you want in software. ...

Re: Bluetooth 10-15s bms review

If the measurement included other resistance aside from the FET it might not represent the FET alone. Also, there will be two FETs in series if this BMS has only in/out ports and does not have a separate charge port. voltage drop from SOURCE to DRAIN. that should give quite exact results of the int...

200A phase? no problem. you can do it with most motors. even my little MAC takes 150A easily. could go up to 200A but there's not need in my application.
every mxus like hubmotor needs more than that to perform ...

Re: Bluetooth 10-15s bms review

I measured 20mV across the mosfets while putting 17A from C- to P- with 10VGSS. So that works out to just under 6mΩ per mosfet which seems about right. ok. good to hear. mine got IRFB3607 and i measured a voltage drop of 116mV @13A which equal to about 9mOhm which is quite high. especially compared...

@flangefrog: did you measure the hy3008? I found that there internal resistance was much higher than the datasheet claimed. About 10mOhm.
Maybe check the 2nd bt bms thread here on E-S for more info.

Re: Bluetooth 10-15s bms review

Yes. You can set the shunt value in software.
The 60A bms has two covers as there are fets on both sides. You may add those to the 30A version to even upgrade it more. But imho it's enough to have 5 genuine FETs for 60A+.

Re: Bluetooth 10-15s bms review

as i destroyed my first one (physically) i ordered a new one. also 30A version as it was cheaper. and also ordered 10x genuine IRFB3077 to replace the cheap FETs. this should make the BMS handle 60A+ easily.
it should arrive next week and then i can give some info how it works.

I always beef up all wires I can. I use #10 for phase and battery. This is for a 2500W setup. 60A battery and 120A phase. If you don't want to open the controller you still can cut the wires close to the case and splice some thick wires into them. Voltage drop is linear to cable length. So the short...

Re: MAC motor temperature sensor - best way to read

The temp sensors are NOT on the side where the gears are. The sensor is touching the windings to get the relevant temperature.
If it was loose or would never work. Fluctuating values indicate some other issues. Maybe wiring to the CA or similar?!

Re: Gt it1 Rare left hand side frame. what motor to use

Why did you choose the most complicated setup for a mid drive anyone could think of? What is the benefit of this complicated chain routing? If you look at my bike you will notice that even if it's a simple frame, it was not easy to get a clean chain line. A mid drive per se is more complicated than ...

The longest runner of this dual freewheel jackshaft setup might be iceman i think Yes. Not too many km ridden but it's a very reliable setup. Once you managed to make the conversion. A lot of time went into making adapters and spacers to avoid rubbing and so. After around 2000km the freewheel faile...

But shipping costs plus tax plus customs plus others fees in relation to good's costs are a bit high if you order just a freewheel.

where is the best place to put a switch to disable this BMS from long term storage, is the B- negative the best place to stop parasitic drain ?
K1 connector if you have it. BMS is powered by balance wires. So to completely disable it you will have to disconnect it completely.
