Re: Cooling fans inside Hub motors

Well, this is what I ended up doing: https://s1.postimg.org/o8ndgzdhb/DSC_3954.jpg https://s1.postimg.org/kb03rkqnz/DSC_3952.jpg The fans on the disc side are normally positioned to pull air in, but the fans on the freewheel side are offset and angled to spin the air around with the rotation of the...

Re: Hyena's YamEha Conversion

Nice one mate! EDIT: I figure I can get a bike with a busted engine or some other ICE related fault for around $1000 as a donor, and for the extra $1000 I got back on selling my previous ride I can put into the engineering and rego costs to have it totally legit street legal. how did you get this $1...

Re: Flux Beta!

The battery compartment is 350/100/115mm. Is the 115 vertical or horizontal. Im hoping the 115mm lengh is from the top of the frame to the bottom. This way a 6p pack would fit. Has anyone measured with verniers. OK here's the deal. The hole is 350mm long x 100mm wide. At the front end (where the F ...

congrats! does that add about 25% to your completion scale in your sig? Yep, it should. Slow build, this A-Line. I got one special winding H 3535 motor 2 weeks ago, and put on it some 500 Km already. yep your right. Ive now bowed to peer pressure. 22% complete I figure, as I sti...

Re: Replacement motor axles

So, assuming these are no longer a goer, I took my H4060 axle and a Tench for reference to a local machine shop to be re-crafted and beefed up in 4340 http://www.interlloy.com.au/our-products/high-tensile-steels/4340-high-tensile-steel/ I'm just waiting on them to give me a quote. Anyone else inter...

Re: Pre charge resistor Wattage

its interesting how quickly the caps loose their charge also, I wonder if that is just normal internal discharge of the caps, or some other reason? Seems to me some controllers hold the precharge and others it disappears quickly. Anyone know the reason for quick discharging of the caps? Digging to ...

Gwhy, how do i put a NTC in my motor? cheers :P I assume you mean a temperature sensor, you will need to fit in a slot some how and bring the wires out where the phase wire exit, a none enclosed thermal couple would be a good option as this would be able to handle high temps and is very thin and sm...

yeah my opinion is basically look at the video i posted at the top of this page and see a moderately big controller being charger with 100v in a second or two, through 100 ohm resistor.

Its all good.

another question: when using an led in series with precharge resistor, the led goes out when caps are charged, it would be nice if instead of the led going out, that it comes on when caps are charged......can anyone think of a simple way to achieve that? the indicator led can be done with a push bu...

would this be that the motors have a set efficiency. and having 2 of them they are just as efficient but there's twice as much power in and out. or is this power consumption cruising at a set speed?
