Re: Kuberg Freerider Extended Swingarm Project

I'm not here to fight as I know what you've done with your bikes Skeetab, but it is ironic you post a video saying the bike doesn't climb well and the headline of that video says: All that single track stuff, you get the point. This is a serious hill. I know of no other ebike that has made it up. Wh...

Re: Kuberg Freerider Extended Swingarm Project

Are you finally liking that throttle? I thought you'd switched it out.
The Sur-ron goes great uphill and really isn't that loud - about like my cyclone. They have a larger sprocket that will make it even better for hills, but slower top-end. Which video did you watch?

Re: Kuberg Free Rider

I'm slowly getting over the lipo. Too many dead cells and having to spend time charging. Bad cells are mostly from my neglect which is fine, but the time to charge isn't. Ultimately I think I'd come out ahead by sucking up the costs up front. I ride my fat bike that handles horribly much more than I...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

Finally saw the Luna Cycle pedal kit. Looks better than what was out there before. Kind of like what I envisioned with the pedal sprocket just touching the chain. More of a compliance thing than anything functional. I actually already got busted on my bike from a *itch *ss cop who had nothing better...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

I've registered multiple vehicles without a 17 character VIN. Most older model cars don't have that length of VIN. Never been an issue for me. I doubt it would be in this situation also, but I don't care either way. I'm not using it for that reason and I am not interested in putting lights all over ...

Re: Anybody ever added battery capacity to Nissan Leaf?

I'm in the same boat with wanting to add capacity to an older e-vehicle. It happens all the time here for bikes, but cars seem to be a totally different story. I've seen the 2014 Ford E-focus sell for $8k with only 20k miles. If I could buy two and hobble them together it would make for a great vehi...

Re: Elephant in the room - Quadcopters...

Aluada looks like a good design. The CGI doesn't make it look real at this point, but they seem to have a good cockpit look going compared to the open motorcycle look others are going for.

Re: new cyclone 3000 w mid-drive kit?

Same here with the I liked it so much I bought two. Plus the price is half the BBSHD. You will end up spending more time in the garage. Mostly chain issues. Chains wear out quicker and get torn apart with 6kw. If you keep it slow things will last longer. You'll also need to stiffen the mounting brac...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

Hyena- I see you already replaced the bars and grips. What did you end up getting? I was looking at downhill bars with 3" or 80mm rise last night. Might try the Diety highside 760 with the 80mm rise. My one quip with the bike is why they would put flat bars and a low profile stem on this? Doesn't ma...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

My bike arrived yesterday from Luna. Finally got around to putting it together and got a quick test ride. The bike has a super high quality frame. A bit heavier than I expected, but I got the pit bike front forks and as always the moto rims add substantially to the weight. It took me a while to figu...

Re: Direct VESC V4.12

Seriously! How cool is it to have such a small, but powerful controller that you can mount to a seat post? Someday, I'll venture into the VESC world. Should of done that for my e-skateboards a long time ago. I'm hoping they start making a 72v version that will put out 200 amps sooner than later. 8)

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

Didn't see them change out the chain. I like my idea better than what Sur-ron is doing. Keep the same sprocket on the wheel and just have a small sprocket on the pedals that just engages a few teeth on the chain. Nobody is pedaling this thing anyway. How long is the motor going to last with them tri...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

I might be mistaken here, but if the chain length doesn't decrease wouldn't the gear ration be the same? The wheel isn't going to turn any faster, as it has to go around the gearing of the pedal system's gear also. Does that make any sense? Crazy way to make a "compliance" vehicle though. Seems like...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike from China

Posted this in the US group buy thread. Needs to be here too. Well, I found it at Luna. Should of bought direct from Sur-ron. Doesn't look like much savings as it is listed at $3,300 and $160 shipping. $3,460 is not bad, just $400 more than I was quoted by Sur-ron. I guess you do get support and not...

Re: Sur-Ron Light Bee USA group buy

I just got an email saying that Luna cycles is where I need to buy the bike. Anyone else know anything about that? Could be good news as Luna does a great job. Just crossing my fingers that the price is still reasonable and hopefully even cheaper due to better shipping costs. Denzel's dirt bike is o...

Ask Skeetab how the Denzel 7.5 kw motor is working for him. I don't know if he ever said if it was worth it or not. They are smaller than 180mm for sure. http://www.eastgem.net/d7500.html http://www.eastgem.net/images/07-acc-d7500-06-size.jpg?crc=415520608 http://www.eastgem.net/images/07-acc-d7500-...

Re: Sur-Ron Light Bee USA group buy

Do you have an amp meter to check the amps? I'd be interested in knowing what it puts out. I've heard the 750w to one horsepower as the best comparison also. So on paper your 3.3 kw from 60v battery is only 55 amps. That leaves the 32 ah battery pulling only 2c. Should be able to handle much more th...
