Re: A2b metro gti

I've mounted the controller under the rear of the frame I never intend to use a b battery so I've removed the loom for it and made a bracket from alu to fit the controller to 2 stock holes situated under the frame. I plan in removing the lock to the b battery and slide cap on the rear of the frame t...

Re: Hover board motors for mountain board

Seems to me the only issue with using them is the tyre is solid so not much cushion and the axle needs to be sturdy so a custom set of trucks is best but I'm all over this loving the idea of forming a deck making the truck's and shove 12s 20ah of lipo I already have and make a 4wd one with four 350w...

Re: 19" Motorcycle Wheels vs 26" Bicycle Wheels (rim and tires)

I tried in vain with CNebikes and evelbike. they said they cannot offer the big motors with cross patterns. I also tried pushing them to do 3x or 4x on their front wheel... nope. seems I am the only one asking them Custom build a wheel if you feel fruity enough I give it a go and done a 16-1.60 mop...

Re: A2b metro gti

I finally got the wheel together and the tyres I bought just will not go on my rim I lubed them up got the bead in the deck but something was not right It wouldn't go on £70 down the drain :(. So the stock tyres went on they still like new and with the extra wide rim and 30psi the tyres hold the bik...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Background radiation is not the same as ingesting radation supplyed by the enviroment both are dangerous in different ways and the amounts to cause damage to cells are much less with ingestion. Most country's are the same the amount spent on war efforts alone would likely give a big boost to our fut...

Something is going on when we get more interest in the news of possible ways of escaping our rock when the news that really would make a shocking headline gets covered up. I don't see what the he'll is going on once we try to connect the dots it becomes clear it's all been a disjointed mess with not...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

I don't think nuclear should be on the list myself with its waste being dumped at sea until the mid 90's the policy being the solution is dilution and that's without the bomb efforts that USA shoved in a hole then concreted over and left a string of islands with kids skin falling off. We keep thinki...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Look at South Wales in the 1960's coal was king then cheap oil came on the scene and we jumped on it coal then took a back step being more expensive. At this time mechanisation was brought in so machines could remove upto 50 ton of ore a minute making coal cheaper and more profitable so we still use...

Re: My excellent adventure through some battery builds

Caps are good for smoothing out big inductive spikes like a florescent light start up but with a motor running from battery source the caps will give an instant boost in available power only if the battery cannot match the controllers demands and in that case it's better to add more cells than caps ...

Progress has been made with my wheels, I laced the mxus in a 1 cross pattern with 9 gauge spokes and 6.4mm nipples in a 2.15- 16" moped rim with a Michelin m45 80/80 16 tyre. I took the front hub opened the flange holes out from 2.5mm to 3.0mm and then spoked it in a 3 cross pattern with 12 gauge sp...

Some interesting valid points regarding landmass vs solar output, But we have to realize just because the land is not built on by humans it's still habit for nature, And a solar plant needs to be in an open flat area to catch the maximum sun ? I need there's lots of area that remain in shade for mos...

Re: DIY battery pack for phone, tablet

I hate the 20000mah rating on powerbanks it's not a true reading of the energy contained. We know they operate at 3.7v nominal so there should be 74wh available then the buck boost circuit wastes heat then the phone itself gets hot while charging so you can see where the missing energy goes even if ...

The problem is trying to use a push bike as a motorcycle there's always compromise if you want a 60mph bike that can handle abuse then convert a trials or motocross or what ever your taste, Converting a bike to be strong enough will cost more and still be compromised in strength compared to a purpos...

No problem chain drive take some of it with a pinch of salt I'm still learning after all but the main thing is if there's room for extra copper mass the performance can be increased either towards torque increased wire diameter or increased rpm more turns per tooth but the stator is the limiting fac...

Chain drive good effort fella get stuck in but the Sturmey archer and a 3000w cyclone will last you as long as a dragster engine it's got a few threads on here 800w is the upper limit of one them things, with 3000w it will pull any single speed threaded freewheel they only come in 16 tooth and up.
