Does it have the steel gear too ? I saw from Paxtana on a diff forum that the Ludi version has one but no official confirmation.mr.electric wrote: ↑Apr 05, 2018 12:54 amAll of luna's drives are magnesium have a sine wave controller and are made exclusively for luna.

Yup. Apartment is too small to bring in the full bike inside every day so have to rely on unhooking the battery.

Long term use of Anderson and xt60 connectors
Hello I live in in the upper NE area in the US and during the winter months, I want to have the flexibility to quickly disconnect the battery and chargers to bring them indoors. My triangle battery comes with Anderson connectors for charging and XT60 for the BBSHD. Both these are hard to disconnect ...

Re: Smallest battery suggestions for 6 mile ride and Bafang BBSHD
IMO, based on my experience, maps to around 12-13 mile of equivalent real life watt-hours. Your challenge is battery size that fits a smaller frame. Option 1: Down tube mounted battery Try the new Wolf pack - https://lunacycle.com/luna-wolf-52v-ebike-battery/ - this should fit most smaller frames. I...

Re: What is now the best and easy option for full suspension EMTB?
Have you explored something like the Frey bikes with the newer bafang ultra motor ? It is heavy, and probably over budget, but the torque sensing portion makes it better. I cannot comment on the geometry of the Frey bike. Another option is to explore the Luna made bicycles - they have a good range w...

Re: Chain tensioner with Shimano Nexus 3 and BBSHD
I did. However I ride 25-30 miles every day. Chain extends by a little bit and it adds up over miles. Suddenly there’s a chain popping out mid ride.
I have had better experience with a tensioner - and am looking for a better component.

Chain tensioner with Shimano Nexus 3 and BBSHD
Is there a chain tensioner that is recommended for my setup - Nexus 3 and BBSHD? I've used the eclypse MT95C but the build quality is poor, and it's too narrow for single speed chains or a seven speed with the KMC pin. Looking for a good high performance single speed tensioner that just works and I ...

Good Donor bike for custom 29er build
I'm building my own full suspension 29er BBSHD build and wondering if it might be cheaper to buy a donor bike than buying individual components? I'm looking for bike suggestions to get me 70% Of the way. Typical list is 1. Front (straight tube that will fit 44mm ID) and rear shocks (165mm length). 2...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000
Also echoed by Karl G's review of the Luna Apex - the stock 1000w programming is not as quick as the BBSHD or the BBSO2 for the weight. Let's hope we figure out the right programming.nataS@phnet.fi wrote: ↑Dec 08, 2017 1:03 amDefinitely not as quick as my last bike with 52v BBSHD but much nicer to ride.

Hydraulic brakes with bafang compatible cutoff
Are there cheaper hydraulic brakes that are compatible with Bafang / BBSHD drives ? I saw https://california-ebike.com/shop/trp-zurich-high-performance-quad-piston-hydraulic-disc-brake/ Which is quite expensive. The Magura MT5E and Shimano M355 are cheaper but both have a red colored 2 pin cutoff ca...

Re: Bafang /Luna ultra max fat tire converstion
Thanks. Can you please post close up pics for the cable routing ? It's not clear from the Luna pictures whether they come out at the top or on the rear of the motor. The mount spec also doesn't say where the cables are routed from .
Thanks for the help.

Nexus Inter-3 for Bafang Ultra
I am looking at the Nexus SG-3D55 for my custom build.
The fat bikes have drop outs of 140/141mm or more but the Nexus only appears to fit 135mm
Will the 135mm fit in the 140/141 dropout? If not, is there a specific 3 speed IGH that is recommended for fat bikes?

Also- the iZip mount works with the Bafang ? Or did you have to modify the mount in any way?
