Re: BBSHD and Sturmey Archer S2K 2 Speed Kick Shift Disc Brake Rear Hub

Can the BBSHD freewheel to allow backwards chain travel for shifting? Do you have a plan for how you would make the chain 'kick' backwards to actuate the shift(s)?

This a case where the lights might have been on high beam had the human been driving. That might have made a big difference.
I used to live in Tempe and don't remember any place where I'd have used high beams.

Electric autonomous on-demand vehicles of the future (2032) will be less expensive than owning/maintaining a bicycle.

Re: portable air compressors for tires

There's a video around of someone who used a stripped down compressor by pressing the gear wheel against his tire. Those compressors get hot though, so you'd want to keep enough of the enclosure to insulate the hot bits.

The frames are stout, but too small for many. That swingarm has a common pivot bearing and can be mounted onto other, larger, frames. The pedal shaft could also be utilized in a DIY rear suspension longtail.- I've often wondered if a similar aftermarket midrive swingarm would be a financially viable...

So how will it measure the finish line cross?
1 click = one wheel revolution. 1/4 mile = X clicks. Count them using a sound editing program that displays a timeline.

Apply some calculus to get the rate of acceleration if that interests you.

Or, as lowrider13 suggests, use a smartphone app.

Re: eBike Drag Racing Timing?

They use accelerometers, so should be able to record from the moment of first movement.

You could also use cards-in-the-spokes method and use the sound recording to derive speed and distance.

Has any of you come up with a simple solution for capping the bike to legal levels in case of running into cops? I'm not one to advocate ignorant lawlessness. However, I do encourage restraint to avoid visable "PC"... or typically referred to as, Probable Cause. In layman's terms... don't give a LE...

Re: Sortimo electric cargo trikes

In comparison to 2 wheelers, and to a lesser degree tilting three wheelers, the fact that a non tilting trike is slower around corners and more likely to fall over while turning is a matter of simple and well understood physics. It's not a matter of opinion, and certainly not "verifiable nonsense"....
