Re: Under 2500 USD - 65+kph - 50+km range - Electric Enduro

I just had my first ride on my bike yesterday after getting it all laced up. Currently have it limited to ~50a battery at 18s. The wheel does not want to stay on the ground, it's pretty insane to see how much more power this has compared to my old 9c at the same voltage / wattage. You'll have a lot ...

Yup, just ordered a 17" moped rim for a MXUS v3 turbo (3t), and 105mm spokes. As soon as the rim comes in, i'll get it laced up.

Seems like a no brainer to go this way, with the extra strength you get from the moped components.

And I got my flatpack2 from here for $50: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELTEK-FLATPACK2-48V-RECTIFIER-241115-001-/292174710961?hash=item4406f848b1:g:1ocAAOSwuxFY0eNM Great price if the S/H wasnt too too high. For Canada its another $50USD, so $100USD total shipped, which is $130CAD, another thing is if y...

Re: Diy 18650 4s battery pack [How to charge, how to build?]

A BMS should provide you with balancing, which would allow you to use a bulk charger, and the BMS would simply balance it if it saw any cell voltages differ from the others. You shouldn't need to use a specific balancing charger for this.

Re: Bulk charging via digital DC-DC boost Minghe BST-900W

I believe that once I replace the fet and diode with the better ones I ordered, I should be able to push this to ~1000w boosting from 53v to 75v. We'll see though, that's what testing is for. What Fet and diode did you order? Here is what I got: On the bright side, I ordered some higher quality fet...

Re: Bulk charging via digital DC-DC boost Minghe BST-900W

Well i've been using my BST-900 with my meanwell s-350-27 for the past couple weeks with everything working fine. I just got my Eltek Flatpack2 in, and I made a makeshift wiring harness to plug into it using some flattened bullet connectors and epoxy. Plugged that bad boy in and it worked first try....

Re: Bulk charging via digital DC-DC boost Minghe BST-900W

I decided to use this setup for charging my 18s 32ah multistar pack. I ordered 2x of both of the models listed in this thread so I could test things out. I already blew one of the BST-900's somehow, I had it at maybe 600w, hit the voltage up slightly, and it blew the fuse, and took out the fet and d...

Re: Programming a KH324-FS-1 infinion controller

Alright, I finally got some JST connectors in, hacked up my old programming cable from 2010 into something that should work with the EB3 controllers. I installed XPD, and used the EB3 profile, was able to both download the current configuration, as well as flash a new one. It worked perfectly. So fo...

Great, then producing quantifiable evidence should be easy. You'd think in the 10 years this thread has existed someone has done a measurement. I feel people are better served with data, not FUD. While I agree with the sentiment of your post, I think the tone could use a little work. Especially wit...

Re: Mounting options for lipo pack

Should also add that I have a RC charger to make sure they're balanced every once and a while... though the last pack I built (a Konion 14s 20p pack) didn't need to be balanced once in the ~3 years I had it.

You should be realizing by now that you put "The cart before the horse." For future reference, or for anyone else looking at building a pack... Honestly, not really. Mounting options for lipo pack

Hey all, I am looking for some advice on mounting my 6s 16ah multistar packs to a rigid mountain bike frame. I have 6 of them for a 18s 32ah pack. I was really hoping to mount them in the triangle, but it seems like i'm running into issues with that. I ordered a triangle bag from Lunacycle, and it c...

Re: Programming a KH324-FS-1 infinion controller

The only info I got was what I had in that quoted text in my last post. If I had a version of the software that supported the model I have, that'd be enough. Or if I could just get some info from someone who has done it in the past saying "profile xxx will work for programming that model". I just am...

Re: Programming a KH324-FS-1 infinion controller

Well, I asked EM3EV for info on it, and it looks like they don't really know anything more than I do. They don't actually know the exact model info on what they sell. Here is the email I got back for those interested: >Hey there, just got the controllers in and at least the 24 fet is working great. ...

Programming a KH324-FS-1 infinion controller

I just got a new 24 fet controller from EM3EV in yesterday. It's a KH324-FS-1, and man is it pretty. They're actually building good controllers these days that don't require a ton of mods to make them usable. I am finding just about 0 info on the KHxxx series controllers on here. There used to be a ...

Eltek Flatpak deal

Hey all, I was trying to do some research into what I need for a nice fast charger, and it looks like the Eltek Flatpack is one of the most compact power supplies available, but it seems to be pretty expensive. I saw this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELTEK-FLATPACK2-48V-RECTIFIER-241115-001-/232...

Re: Back after 5 years away, have some charger questions

Alright, got a few things ordered. Ended up going with the 6s 16ah multistar packs, and got 6 of them on the way for a 18s 32ah pack. Will likely pick up more if they go on sale at some point. They were roughly $110 each including shipping at this point. Going to use my two meanwells to power a dc-d...

Re: Back after 5 years away, have some charger questions

Thanks for the responses all, @Overclocker, I ordered a few dc dc boost converters so I can test. We'll see how they work when they come in. If it's not reliable enough, I'll look into the HLG models. I already have a couple s-350-27 meanwells, so might as well try to use them. @motomech I saw the m...

Re: Back after 5 years away, have some charger questions

Thanks Overclocker! That seems to be exactly what I need. If I wanted to increase the charging rate by using 2 meanwells to power it, is it able to handle the load? If not, can two be hooked up in either series or parallel, to two different meanwells? @Alan B, thanks for the info, will look into the...

Back after 5 years away, have some charger questions

Hey all, been away from the electric bike scene for quite some time due to work, life, and partially because a lady ran me down on my last bike. Need help troubleshooting a controller build

It's been a while since I touched my controller project due to the holidays, moving to a new house, and just generally being busy as hell. I picked it back up yesterday, and am feeling severe brain drain from not working on things recently. For reference, look at the last few posts in this thread. S...

Toaster oven worked. Just had to put it a bit closer to the burner. I've got the new board almost built up now... I still am not 100% sure what happened, possibly the leg of one of my caps jumpered the + & -, and blew everything to hell? I really don't know. I may skip out on the big electrolytic's ...
