Re: *ALLCELL 48V 23AH Lithium Battery Pack - $650

Hey Lester, Do you still have these packs in stock? How much longer do you anticipate carrying them? Expected cycle life if not abused? Recommended charge voltage? Max continuous discharge amps? I'm riding a 40A48V Crystalyte rear dd hub kit from ElectricRider and am assuming this pack would be appr...

Who's the manufacturer? Wound for speed or torque? Power specs as far as amps the motor can handle? Built-in controller?

Re: Lectro LLC 750W fat tire e-bike

Lectro, Thanks for the response. I'm just happy to finally see some common sense in speccing a fat tire e-bike with 7 speeds and a 750W motor. The Sondors fat-e struck me as ridiculously specced as a fixie and I said so from day one. And I found it hilarious that at the first big public test ride on...

Re: Lectro LLC 750W fat tire e-bike

Just queried Lectro re shipping costs: Add $195, most of which they attribute to cost of battery shipping. They did get back to me in a matter of minutes.

Re: Lectro LLC 750W fat tire e-bike

Anyone know who's behind this bike? One site claims Lectro had roots at MIT and the Lectro Kickstarter campaign claims they have a working factory. Can anyone verify or add more information?

Re: "Sondors" ebike - new fat tire entry

Glad to see some bikes being delivered at long last but there are some--ahem--minor details that seem to be getting ignored in regards to what the bikes are delivering range-wise versus what was initially claimed in the start up campaign ads. This is a verbatim quote from a Sondors' owner taken from...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

E-bike throttles don't have to be cheap crap. Magura makes a high quality twist throttle that retails here in the States for around $50-60. I've had flawless performance from mine--it was a personal upgrade--for almost ten years and over 15,000 miles on a lithium-modified Tidalforce S750X. IMO all t...

Re: Quietest E-Bikes and Motors

<<Motors like the Tidal force were louder than the Clytes.>> I don't believe this claim for a minute--my 2005 TF S750X is dead silent, not just quiet, and I've ridden it enough miles and years to know. What you might have heard was probably brake pad rub or something mechanical, not the motor. I als...

Re: Falco e-Motors

Nice build, Ottodog! How many miles do you have on it? Best of luck with it. I am friendly with Rakesh dating back to Tidalforce days but I have to be honest and admit I'm more than bothered by the fact that Team Hybrid in the U.K. has abandoned the Falco kits and sold off their apparently problemat...

Quietest E-Bikes and Motors

Having been spoiled for many years (and about 15,000 miles with no motor issues) by my dead silent 2005 Tidalforce S750X, I am curious as to which current e-bike offerings are the quietest and would appreciate member input here, both in regards to turnkey e-bikes and independent motors. Are there an...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

C'mon guys--the chances of ANYone, never mind a spaceshot like Storm, being able to spec and tool his own parts and production-build a bike from scratch in 60 days are nil. This guy is either from another planet or Asperbergers has stolen what remains of his brain. The more I find out about the hist...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

Funny that this Indiegogo campaign has been extended another month despite exceeding their original goal by 5,000%! Talk about milking a cash cow--I guess $4 mil is just not enough these days to get a bootstrap business up and running. ;-) And if it's truly about funding a second production run, it'...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

Thanks for posting that video, scoot-e. The Sand Viper fat e-bike that Court Rye tested on the YouTube video is clearly a much higher quality bike than the Sondor's ride, so buyers beware that the performance of the cheaper bike will most likely not match the SSR, which was poor enough on less than ...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

I'm with scoot-e on this one, and find gridlok's post less than accurate about there only being two extreme camps here. ES has never suffered fools gladly, and there are reasons there's been such a visceral reaction to this falsely advertised bag of goods. Like scoot-e, I find pointed skepticism to ...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

10-12 miles sounds about right. I have been riding e-bikes of various power and configuration since 1999, all on blacktop, from lead acid powered Currie kits to my current ride, a modified Tidalforce S750X equipped with a 24ah 37V HK lipo pack. In real world hilly riding on macadam I can comfortably...

Re: "Storm" ebike - new fat tire entry

The fact that Sondors refused to let the public test ride this thing on the beach in Santa Monica speaks for itself. I thought the whole point of a fat tire bike was to be able to go on snow and sand. And a single speed??? WTF? This may well be the most absurdly specced bike I've ever seen. And it w...

Re: Falco e-Motors

Kit, Great to hear from someone else who's still enjoying a souped up lithium powered TFX bike. I've had my S750X for almost eight years now and have around 15,000 miles on it with zero major issues. Besides the battery upgrade--I'm running a 37V 24Ah lipoly pack rated at 20C--the only other mods I'...

Good luck. The TF system is way sophisticated and many like you have tried and failed to rebuild the A pack. With all due respect it's a fool's errand IMO.

Re: Rebuilding Wavecrest Tidalforce hub battery

I've been riding a TF S750X for about 6 years with lipoly packs after ditching the front battery hub and I can tell you the difference in performance between the Saft NIMH and the newer HobbyKing lipos is night and day. You saw how bad the sag is on NIMH; how about 1.2V sag on a HK-sourced 37V 24Ah ...

Up in Flames: E+ Really Really Gone

Ignominious end to a once promising e-bike maker. Sad, disgraceful and upsetting. The Tidalforce Google group (where I'm a moderator) seems to be the only one following/breaking this story, which is a big one for the e-bike community, so I thought I should post it here to get further coverage/awaren...
