Re: Remove speed limit from step

Don't bother trying to upgrade that controller. just get another one that will do what you want. By the time you hack that one for more performance, you will have spent more time and money than it's worth. But Will a new controller help if the engine is only 300W? Will a 36v controller with more cu...

I know exactly how you feel about fossil fuels, but what are your thoughts on sustainable wood burning? . It is apparently pretty bad. Many large cities have had to ban all wood burning due to poor air quality. . https://www.transitionculture.org/2008/05/19/is-burning-wood-really-a-long-term-energy...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

The symantics of what it takes to stop poisoning ourselves to rapid extinction are irrelevant. All status quo mechanism which burn things in our spaceships closed loop will end, either because nobody is left alive to re-light them or re-start them, or because we evolved out of the caveman mentality...

Re: Remove speed limit from step

Your controller says 36v 15amps so you should be getting at least 500w of peak power? If you are then it probably isn't speed (current) limited. I have overvolted many of currie scooters to around 12s lipo without problems, but it is pushing the limits of the voltage caps.

I currently have 2 ezips that I bought on craigslist with bad batteries for $75.00. Most of the components can be upgraded like the brakes, wheels etc.

Easiest speed upgrade is to up the voltage to 48v if the caps can take it?

My 88 K100 was the best of both worlds for street riding. Fast, great seating position and had a great fairing for long rides. Also, it didn't rattle at all and got 60 mpg!

Re: What is the "Light Weight" go to "Hobby" Lithium packs

I was going to use them for my lawnmower build, but now I use them on my current ebikes and electric scooters. The pack is big enough to run a lawnmower though, which I never could get the funds to build.

@Cephalotus: When I lived in Montabaur Germany there were a lot of rural homes that heated their homes with Kackelofen's or masonry wood stoves. I stayed at a friends house who could heat his whole house with 1 meter of wood.

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Do you prefer gas and coal? Rhetorical question at this point because that is what we are using. Hopefully we don't drag our feet on building out a non-intermittent zero carbon replacement for base load before we really get in a jam with tightening carbon fuel supplies to the point where liquid fue...

I'm no longer an E-Bikekit employee, so nothing free expected from Jason. He was extremely generous with my last paycheck, which I never got for quitting an employer before. Sure, bonuses for good work plenty of times in the past, but never a quitting bonus. Jason paid me enough to pay off my curre...

All true today, but it does have a bright path forward as a structural and electrical and thermal material. The length and size of the bits today is small, but it's already gone from being batches you grow to being a continuous mfg process, and that process has seen regular improvements in the size...

My meanwell HLG charges at 10 amps so I can charge my pack to full by the time I get a cup of coffee. Usually, charge my 12s 16ah pack with about 30 minutes worth of juice. Of course I monitor voltage with cell logs and occasionally balance charge.
