Original Yahoo Zappy Group about to go away

Long before Endless Sphere or the Voltage Forum, back in the last century, there was the Yahoo Zappy Group, which was really the first social media for personal electric vehicles that I am aware of. Yahoo has announced that the content there will be deleted in the near future.

I browsed what was there, and not much remains from the early days. There were quite a few pictures posted by Craig (Deafscooter), who built all kinds of crazy high powered small wheeled scooters. Back then, batteries were lead-acid and motors had brushes.

Some of the old pictures were scooters I've seen in person or even ridden.

This is probably the last chance to grab copies of stuff there before it gets deleted. A blast from the past....

Notice how big all the batteries are. Lead-acid was not very energy dense. I wish I could find more of those really old pics.
