Endless Sphere passes new milestones

Talk about anything and everything here within reason.

Volunteer labor not counted,

what is the hard dollar cost of running this site (bandwidth or other hidden/direct costs),
and never auto-pruning mere text, as from General?

______________

Also, if there is a cost in site-self hosting of members' pictures,
what is that cost, proportionately?
Pictures on site are HUGE files,
compared against mere text.

I post thousands of images here, but they are not =here=,
I use free and easy Photobucket; that's where the picture files are.... = no cost to E.S.
YT, same thing.
Who, or which one would I be, were I a great man?

Not bad, considering our low spammer count.

Just an interesting comparison between ES and another 'adult' cycling related site (Info via Alexa.com):

We seem to have high rankings on google here. Every time i search for something eBike related, i get ES one of the first 5 links.

I am also VERY GLAD we do not have banners or issues with being particular with one vendor or the other. I'd tolerate pledge drives before i tolerate that.
ES facebook group: http://facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_125035107565566&ap=1

The all-arounder: 8T MAC motor on a Trek 4500.
The girlfriend bike: 350W front MAC on a 700c Trek.
The wheelie machine: 20" Rear Magic Pie II on a Trek 4300 MTB
The Bus: ??? on a 'da bomb' cargo bike frame

Pro-tips for noobs: Avoid BMS Battery like the plague | Charge RC Lipos to 4.15v, stop discharging at 3.5-3.6v | Use torque plates/arms! | Rear mounted hubs are always best

Talking of which, let us know if the board needs more funding. I'm sure I'm not alone in being happy to donate to keep the forum advert-free.

I was just thinking the same thing. What a pleasure it is to hang out here without the constant distraction of pimps flashing in your face and scrolling on top of the margins. Time to contribute!

I'm pretty sure there's a way to find the 300,000th post. I don't remember how though, messing around with the URL isn't working for me

Probably one that's been deleted....... :)

It works for 300001: viewtopic.php?p=300001#p300001

The number sequence doesn't alter with deletions but the figure for the total seems to....

I guess you'll have to divide the bags of money between that one and 299,999 :D
