Seems they all have a battery, and i'm tired of charging/changing.
Took an old 15v wall wart and added a step down module (cost $1).
Set it at 1.5v and no more having a battery to run down.
Not much to do here on new years day

Possible to over-volt it slightly, get the choppers extra clean?

with my Oral-B i tried 1.8v and it sounded in pain.
With a battery, as the cell would discharge, it would run fine down to 1.3v, so giving it the full 1.5 seems fast.

i just ordered 3 more LM2596

i'm going to put them on old wall warts for bench testing whatever.
all i did was hot glue the lm2596 on to the wart.
the limited power from the wart should work as a crude current limiter. at .82 each, not much to lose.

Seems like a genuine good deal.
And if they don't work out for some reason, what's that line about lottery tickets from old blues song?

so i changed my mind and put a $1.32 boost/buck on an old 9v 850ma wart,
so it now has a range of 1.2v to 32v. can do a lot more with a wide range. only drawback is that it wastes 10% extra, doing both boost and buck. i set it on 20v for now, so it could maybe charge a 2p5s makita pack.

did get the 3 bucks, and plan to put 1 on an 11 volt wart.
EDIT
put it on an 11v 400ma, and surprise is has a blue LED for ON. amazing for 82 cents!
range goes up to 22v, no load.
