Hi,
I need a replacement throttle for an X-Treme Scooters XM-3150 (60v 3000w) I have been calling X-Treme Scooters for over a month but all I get is their voicemail and they never call back.
I tried swapping over the throttle from an X-Treme Scooters XB-508 (48v 700w) that I also have but not sure if the voltage is wrong? It's all good when I turn the key on but as soon as I turn the throttle even the slightest bit, I hear a soft "thunk" in the hub-motor and nothing happens. Is the throttle the wrong voltage? Most electric scooter parts websites indicate that they should be compatible? Maybe a failed hall sensor in the hub-motor?
I'm an auto body tech, not an electrician and I am baffled by this formerly $2000 electric motor driven moped. It has been nothing but a boat anchor for three months while I have waited for warm weather and a return call from X-Treme Scooters.
This adventure all started one day when I had just turned the key on... I just rested my hand on the throttle and the thing decided that it wanted to go forward at full throttle. My reaction time wasn't the greatest but I did get on the brakes but that did no good and the bike slammed itself into a wall. It only stopped when we fell together and the throttle broke apart when the handlebar end hit the ground as we went down.
I have cystic fibrosis so my inability to breath adequately from pedaling a conventional bicycle keeps me stuck at home (we have one car and the wife uses it for work). I need my bike back.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Anyone near Vermont, USA willing to look at it?
