Need advice BAD!!

Postby Beavinator » Thu Apr 12, 2012 11:53 am

Hey guys I REALLY need some advice with a project I am working on. I have a Gio 500+ scooter and I seem to have cooked the stock motor. I am running the stock 48V 20Ah SLA battery pack plus I added another 12V 20Ah SLA booster pack so the scooter is 60V. I have an Infineon 12fet Lyen edition controller and I installed a cycle analyst in place of the stock speedometer. Basically I was wondering what you guys would suggest I use for a motor. I would prefer something that would just bolt in place of the stock one. I believe the stock one is a 16 inch and runs a 16 x 2.5 inch tire. What size would you guys think I should get, maybe a 1500W??? I dont want to spend a ton of money as this is just going to be a daily driver. 50-60km/h is fine for me. Thanks for any help you may provide!

sflorlando just bought one for his "scooter" http://www.extremescooters.biz/750w-rea ... motor.aspx good thread here, viewtopic.php?f=10&t=38407

You might not need the same one, but I figure that site could be handy for you.

I'm polymerized tree sap and you're an inorganic adhesive, so whatever verbal projectile you launch in my direction is reflected off of me, returns to its original trajectory and adheres to you. So there!

Well, look and see if they have something more fitting of your needs. Also check out golden motors as I know they deal with "scooter" hubbies.

Lets see a pic of the ass of the bike. (dropouts)
Was the original motor a 10mm axle flat? Bike std vs. scooter std.
Whats the matter with the OG motor? 500w is just a number, your 12fet Lyen is good for 6x that @ least.
I'm sure a Gio motor is good for 50+kph @ 1500w ish & bursts of more.
Want to go faster? Dump the saggy lead. That alone will give you a major boost.
18s lipo or 20s life4po will shock you in comparison.
16s a123 26650 transformed this "500w" Scoot.
500w Gio's are a dime a dozen where I live. Where are you located?
I think you can find replacements motors @ various sources/dealers throughout the GTA.

If you want something better you are going to have to pay(for a new motor capable of more) & show a pic of your dropouts.
For a better recommendation.

Cheapest solution.

I just returned that motor, Planning to buy a new one from http://www.hs-escooter.com/ Follow this thread http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37691&start=30

FYI this is a pig of a motor that may be able to sustain huge watts. Waiting to see some info before I pull the trigger.

Thanks for your email for the 2kw 13inch hub motor.

As price indicated,it cost USD245.00

And shipping cost to Orlando FL 189.00 by FEDEX.

So total will be USD433.00

If you confirm it,I will send you the Invoice.

Waiting for your reply.
