Wire

Ordered some 14G wire from hobbyking.com
High quality TURNIGY Silicone wire.
High strand count.
Pure copper & pure silicone.
Temp rating: 200Deg C
Guage: AWG 14#

Thought I ordered from the USA warehouse. Now I see it is coming from China. Ordered on 2/29/12 today is 3/13/12 I am tired of waiting for delivery.

Where is a good place in the US to buy good quality flexible stranded wire with lots of very small strands? Red and Black, 14G, 12G, 10G.

I've bought zip cord from Powerwerx before - http://www.powerwerx.com/wire-cable/

It's alright and holding up okay. They shipped pretty quick.

I agree Ypedal, it's not the same as silicone and it's kinda funky insulation but he didn't ask for silicone wire and it is fine strand. I've ordered Zip Cord before from Powerwerx and still use it for some battery/controller connections.

EPBuddy is probably the best source to check for silicone stuff in USA.

epbuddy.com web site say: Black 14 AWG Silicone Wire is Sold Out. Sent them a email asking when they will get more?

I still WANT Red and Black Silicone Wire.

Where to buy?

+1 for epbuddy... I ordered a bunch of 10awg and it showed up in 2 weeks flat.

I've also ordered from powerwerx, and they also ship consistently fast, and have excellent customer service. Although the zip wire is not as skookum as 200°C silicone.

When I ordered some wire from HK, it took more than 2 months...ridiculous...

Update:
Called Hobby King to ask "Where is my wire?" They no talk on the phone. Emailed yesterday. They no reply to email. Did get a email auto reply.

Called your buddy at EP Buddy. Get a hard to understand message, think it said that he has left the country. Emailed 2 days ago and received no reply.

This place has a cool catalog with pages that flip. General Cable. See 14 AWG Polyethylene Test Lead 105/34 strands. Call the General Cable girl. She say they have black only and they will make any color I like if I buy 25,000 feet. Should have asked her for samples. Newark has 1000 foot rolls. $400 per roll and you have to buy 25 of them.

Look through my big box of old wires. Strip the jacket off 14G, 2 and 3 conductor power cord wire. Lots of fine strands but the insulation looks cheesy.

Look at short pieces of Red and Black wire that came with my Hyperion EOS 1420i NET3 Charger. Nice flexible wire.

Sorry for being slow with my report.
Received Hobby King and Robot Market Place wire. Hobby King took weeks to arrive. Robot Market Place took days to arrive. Both appear to be good quality silicone wire. Hobby King might have slightly smaller strands?

Our buddy at EP Buddy never replied to my email.

Built some test lead wire type of stuff for battery testing. Flexible wire is good for stuff like that.

Ordered more 14G silicone wire from Hobby King. Web site said one color was back ordered. Hope I receive it during this life time.

Would someone in the USA please stock and sell Silicone Wire in all different gauges and colors.

May I suggest ebay?
I couldnt be arsed to wait for HK to deliver to uk, so checked out ebay. Found four or five sellers stocking silicone wire, bought a bunch. I must admit, I have no experience of the Turnighy stuff from HK, but the stuff I recieved looks very similar, is very flexible, solders up great and is handling the 4000w from my lipo easily.
There must be a US seller surely...

These guys have some insane strand counts and great quality in all sorts of wire all around, but I just got delivery of this stuff and it's like nothing I've ever used. 12AWG with 1667 Strands.

Have you tried the local hobby shops.

When I had my shop 15 years ago, I stocked most of the silicon wire in many colors as well as large shrink wrap. Which is hard to find localy now.

Things have chaned so much!

I'm not sure about hobby shops but these guys are in Pickering and have every kind of wire and connector that I could imagine ever needing. www.rosspar.com
