Thanks guys! I've got a bunch of projects I have to wrap up this week, but I want to get some photos up ASAP. I'm dying to do some serious speed testing, but can't do much until I get new rubber on it. The tires on it now are original... 1971!

Stay tuned...

Those tires were scary in '71, I would be down right frightened of rolling them in the garage at this point.

Ha ha, j/k. Not trying to rush you or nothing. Just putting in a request for when you do have time.

no no, the previous post to that previous post... lol!

I'm still pissed at myself, the weather for the show was really bad, and we waited until the last minute to load it up and take it down. I brought the camera, but it didn't have a memory card in it. It's a beautiful site, I think I'll take it back there to shoot it.

Not the elaborate shots I intended, but here's what I got... this is with the 20ah pack. The carbon tray will go in when I get more batteries.

Nice nice nice! That is really awesome man. I actually just had a flash of a thought as I was writting this. I have an old TS125 enduro that I turned electric. I think it would look a lot nicer if I did this type of tank/tail section instead of the dirtbike look.

Btw, how did you mount the tank to the frame?

Thanks! The tank has the two, um, pads, for lack of a better word, in front- you know, the stock setup with rubber bumpers that fit into slots on the frame, about 1.5" dia. Then the rear is located between the frame members with a rubber piece, and strapped down with a leather strap in the rear (å la the vintage- had to get some leather strap in somewhere... :D)

I did it this way so it could be removed and replaced easily, basically to show people... "what's under the tank" seems to be the second most popular question. The first, so far for this bike, is, how fast does it go? lol! (For my other bike it was, how far does it go on a charge?)

yep! Once I get the performance numbers for this config, I'm putting the CF tray in (shown previously) and doubling the pack   (It would add about 45lbs- on a bike that weighs 200lbs, it's a significant difference...)

Just got her weigh-in: 227.2 lbs! Not as svelte as I was hoping, by 27.2 lbs, but not too shabby. :D

Well, decided to lose a little weight. 15lbs, to be precise... Out with the ME0709, in with the ETEK. Now to work out the gearing.

I've decided to make these motor mounts available for sale, in aluminum or steel. Details here:

DAMN. Seems like it took forever to get the new tires and get them mounted. Here they are, all true and balanced and ready to run.

Next up, some speed runs!

Been a while... sorry I haven't been updating!

FINALLY got me an original '72 TD3 tank, and got it mounted and all yellow:

I'm now running the Motenergy ME1003, rather than the ETEK, which didn't have enough torque for me.
