Scooter "Fattie" multi-config

Postby McDesign » Mon Jul 11, 2011 9:36 am

This is a "mule" scoot made from mild steel and components I had, to experiment with different battery types and configurations, and controllers, and keep 'em all neat and under the floor (will be aluminum diamond plate). Normal 36" wheelbase; will lean 45°, but is 8" wide at the bottom. That wide rear axle may be a liability, but I have several, and my son's only a hundred pounds.

Also made it wide enough to drop in any motor between the frame rails.

Will hold (12) 6V SLAs for 72V / 12 Ah, or 60V / 14 AH of NiCad, plus space for a controller -

Nice one. With the diamondplate would look similar to the old rad2go e36.

Final pics - except for the aluminum diamond plate to replace the plywood deck - a buddy's got a sheet for me.

It's as simple as I could make it. A frame, a brake and brake lever, a throttle, and a charge port.

I added some fairly dense foam all around to cushion and locate the batteries and controller -
