Awesome Gwhy! We need some ride vids! What was your total reduction and top speed? How does the little guy do in there?? Have you ever considered even more reduction and then higher voltage to accommodate more watts through our little controllers?
Power is a fascinating thing, the more you have, the more you want, but the real power is having the restraint not to use it all at once...............Um...Yeah..

The harder you work.....The luckier you get!!

Ride vids may come soon . The Bike is geared for 20mph and gets there quite rapid ( not rapid enough tho for what I'm after ). The motor is fine but I did bend a shaft and destroyed 2motor bearings before I beefed up the motor mounting plate and now it seems to be holding up. The gearbox is much bigger than it needs to be but this is so I can make it a 2 speed once I'm Happy with the low end grunt. Upping the voltage may be a option as when the bike is geared lower this do improve the low end grunt but really effects the throttle response so higher voltage may over come this. Total bike weight ready to ride is 54kg.

Wow! 119lbs! That's really light for a bike like that! I would try higher voltage and lower gearing, and if that does not work, just add another motor and controller, what's another 5lbs with double the power! I think you really got something there! Plenty of room for battery too it. Looks like! Nice job!

I'm looking forward on what you come up with, I want to build a lightweight trials bike since I got into ebikes!

Any news on this build? I am anxious to see what the little motor is capable of!

This is still very much on going and the little motor is fine :D , the controller needs a bit of work tho  . I am currently re-making my custom frame viewtopic.php?f=6&t=25703&start=15 and is now becoming a full blown off-road machine that will weigh even less than this one
