I've had the same thought for mine. There is a bit of space in front of the motor, but not that much. What kind of engine would you use?
No idea.. but for sure the generator will not be one optimized for 120Vac 60hz wich is unusefull and too big as an electric motor. I will probably try to find a really efficent gas engine that i could use with one of those 100$ 7kW turnigy motor with 130Kv.. they are light and are using magnets so they are light! and theyr voltage output will be matched with a boost or buck circuit to the 58V CC CV of the LiMn zero pack.
