Hi

THis is my first post on Endless Sphere. I´ve read a lot and the electric world is interesting. Interesting because as a Danish citizen there is some pro´s utilizing electric vehicles. Especially motorcycle registered types.

I´m thinking of building a pendler motorcycle/trike. I´m no electrician mastermind, far from. So i would like to use an existing frame/idea which i would modernize.
Frame/trike:

Pro´s:
- low weight
- registered as motorcycle
- easy to work on
- requires low power to get sober speed
- cheap to run
- These Ellert/CityEl are already integrated in the Danish system which makes it easy register.
- aerodynamic

Con´s:
- Might be touchy in windy areas
- small wheels(less stable)
- only 1 person
-

My needs:
80/100km/h(need to follow normal traffic speed).
Enough Ah to go 40-50km in harshest condition(-10 celcius and headwind)...absolute worst case.

My thoughts:
- Rip out old electricals
- Install new engine(what size(kw) should i go with and at what V? I´ve been thinking of between 15-20kw)?
- Lifepo4 batteries, i assume there should be plenty of room to fit the required amount.
- upgrade the nonexisting suspension.

Be advised that i have no experience in this though i have been building motorcycle before. This will only be a pendler machine as i have my big motorcycle for the fun part.
A "kit" would be nice, though not necessary as i assume i can leech on information at this forum ;)

MIght be an option for me?

Neat vehicle. How fast/far does it go with the stock LA batteries when new? Why do you feel the need to replace the motor or controller? You may be able to just upgrade the battery pack and be done with it.

Regarding which version you got they are good for around 45-65 km/h.

Old engine:
Thrige-Titan 36V( 3x 100ah batteries).

Newest engine:
FactFour 48V (4 x 80 Ah batteries).

45-65km/h is in my opinion dangerous on the danish roads. I would like to follow traffic instead of jamming them behind me or get run over...

aaaaaaaaaaaaa crap. I see i´m a noob and have posted in the wrong sub category.

Admin...please remove to the correct. That would be Electric scooters and motorcycles.

many thanks.

i thought there were 4 of the big flooded lead acid batteries in that picture. if you went with a big 72V lifepo4 pack then you may be able to upgrade the controller to higher voltage. so if there is no governor on the controller the higher voltage may get you more speed but narrow and delta trike is more unstable too. i noticed there are many different EVs for sale in that classified. did you consider others? there are citroens and even a US version iMiEV too. is there a route you can drive that does not involve high speed motorways? that might help solve the problem with cars, which is always the biggest problem.

Yep there is a lot of other routes i can take, but we got good infrastructure with not that crammed roads.

Case is that this will be my first jump to EV. And i would like to get a small one. We already got 1 Toyota Avensis in the house. No need for bigger vehicles, this will be sufficient for me. Though the speed will need to go a long with other cars.

I will not use any of the old stuff in these. THey are outdated.

Regarding other vehicle i´m also looking at the SAM revolt. Though way more expensive.

Regards
