I'm going through the motions at the moment - submitted all the info they've asked for.

What I want is a refund or a replacement (posted free), and me properly disposing of the pack.

I suppose I have the option of a paypal claim if necessary.

Me buying from the German warehouse and insisting return to HK is a bit dodgy, as I have no contract of sale with the HK office, only the German one. I suspect this may be contrary to German consumer law (would need to check!). I'd also be very surprised if the German authorities would be happy at faulty lipo's being sent through their postal system.

IMO, provided photographic evidence is supplied of the faulty product, I don't see a rational argument for its return.

We'll see what happens :)

HK resolved the matter by instructing me to post the faulty pack back to the DE warehouse for a credit or replacement. I replied asking for guidance and assurance that this would be safe, as the pack was puffed, and got an email back saying they'd given me store credit and not to bother sending back the faulty pack.

This is ok as I'm bound to want some more batteries in the future. I just hope the credits in my HK account don't disappear for some reason!

I guess you got off better than me. Maybe I need to be more aggressive in responding that this would not be safe.

Oh well, glad you got taken care of!

Meh, I guess I'd still have to pay postage on a replacement pack. Hence waiting till I need to order more anyway :)

I looked into posting back the faulty pack and it was going to be a hassle. HK insist on tracking, and there just isn't a reliable tracked postal service between the UK and Germany, the closest services were by air rather than surface. And li-ion over 100W/hr are banned. I'd have been looking at a courier service for £30 (pack cost £45).

Now to repair the faulty pack
