Because it appears that Paul isn't able to build a custom battery (he's only offering standard battery pack layouts), I may need to order a good number of these separately.

When it comes to cable size there is a point where the extra weight and reduced flexibility offsets the conductivity improvement.
A 12awg or 10awg would have sufficed for that pack perfectly.

I was involved in a College project in which we needed to prototype some electronics that were running off 3S a123 packs. We ordered like 700+ packs for production but out customer didn't want to pursue the production so he gave us all the packs and I got ahold of them. They were all brand new. I don't have many left as the majority was sold pretty fast.
