smallest possible 36V pack with 200whr

I have a BBS-01 mid-drive on my 2003 Giant NRS-1 mtn bike, which I use to commute to work, 17 miles per round trip. I have an AllCell 36V 10.4 Ahr battery in a frame bag. I use about 150-180 Whr on my commute (10 miles/whr). I do enjoy pedaling and the occasional drink from a water bottle, but the bottle cage has been sacrificed for the frame bag. I am thinking about what the minimum battery I would need for the commute, which is the longest trip I usually make on the bike. What is the smallest form factor I could buy/make for this purpose? What if I used 3.7V 6800 mAh 26650 cells to make a 10S pack? That would only be 10 of those cells, which I probably could fit comfortably in a seat bag. That would give me enough whr to do my commute, even without charging at work. That would seem to be smaller than 20 3.6V 18650 cells.

What cells are you thinking of? Are they actually 6800mAh, and are they capable of 2-3C discharge?

Do not buy Trustfire/Ultrafire cells.

Much better off buying some of the name brand 18650 by Sanyo, LG, Samsung, Panasonic etc.

I'd go for 5ah of 20C 10s or 12s rc lipo. 12s would get you a little more torque and speed if you need it.

Use this cells if you want smallest possible package, you need 20 cells, and it will be even more than 200 wh (around 240 Wh). Weight will be around 1 kg.

No link bud?
But I would take a guess and say NCR18650B? :p

Lawnmower battery?

Sorry I haven't been keeping up, I have the perfect design from Samd made to fit in a seat bag. Easy removal for carrying in to the work place to charge. Leave a cheap charger at work.

My solution: just have Paul at em3ev.com build you something.

If you really wanted small, you could do 10s2p 25E cells at 180wh (2lbs).

If/when he gets the
3000-mAh, INR18650-30Q, Samsung
3500-mAh, INR18650-35E, Samsung

Those would be even better bets.

This forum is amazing! So many great contributors. Thanks to all!

One other question, what would be the max current output if one were to build a 10s1p (10 cells) micro-pack from any of the above 18650 cell types? If the current output was enough for say 50% max on my BBS-01 350W, that would suit my needs. I could reliably make it each leg of my commute and charge at work.

Interesting. What is ballratebikes? Where are they located? Do they ship from China? what was the lead time for the order?

Inquiring minds have lots of questions. I've never heard of them, but looks like a good commuter battery...

PM for details. I'm on a pia ipod

OK, Samd on this forum is out of Australia. He can have a batt drop shipped. Barent, teslanv, can also drop ship from the builder. I can as well, but Samd and teslanv have internet stores. It can be built with just about any cell you choose. Cell choice would determine the price. As always shipping is the kick. Micah T is now building as is Lunacycles. LOTS of choices for a good little battery without breaking the bank. I'd think a 29E would be a decent cell for a midrange price. The shape that SamD worked up is perfect. I am building my own in that form and will share some prelim pictures.

Good luck! There are many more choices than I had just 14 months ago. You've got me excited now that I've built it out and handled it. I'd long seen the size as useful, especially for a stealth commuter. My next batt too.
