i haven't found any converters for it.
do you guys just cut it off and replace it with a different connector?

Yes always. Those absolutely suck as a battery connector, or motor connector. They can be ok for the small stuff, throttle, halls to the motor, but not for large current plugs.

Cut it off and replace it with anything better, lots of choices in the RC supply places like RC Buddy, or Hobby King. Many prefer 4 mm gold bullets from the hobby store, or Anderson power poles.

XT 60 somewhat hard to take appart from my experience.
