I saw this product on ebay:

<A href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PowerPulse-12v-Battery-Maintenance-System-Desulfator_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33578QQihZ004QQitemZ140113552325QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW">
Product link
</a>

Does anyone know if this works? If nobody has tried it, I will. If this device works, it could really help us ebikers.

The high voltage pulse systems apparently do help with flooded lead acid batteries but I doubt they would have much of an effect on AGM or "Gel-Cell" type batteries.

I haven't used that brand of battery desulfinator (there are 1000s out there, it is a simple circuit) but the one I bought from ebay DID work.

I used it on the two batteries for my VW bus... They barely held a charge, I ran the desulfinator on each battery with a charger for a few weeks. The change was HUGE. I had no idea my starter could spin that fast. I think you could make SLAs live forever with this...

Allegedly you can recover totally dead batteries with it - I only tried it on a little sla, didn't get very far before I got distracted with other products. I have read of success on AGM etc too, but again have not tried it.

I have used three of these and they all worked GREAT on regular flooded batteries, in fact I put a 48 volt unit on a brand new golf cart. I still have a 12 volt unit on a 8d flooded battery. No experience on SLA but a call to the manufacturer would answer the question.
