Anyone used these, or similar individual battery protection boards, for 18650's?

There are a number of these on ebay, costs ranging from $0.99 to $3.00. This one comes from Supower, whom I have at least heard of.

They seem to all have specs as follows:

Max cell overvoltage cutoff about 4.3V, Minimum cell discharge voltage about 2.3-2.4V, current limit 1 or 2 amps.

They come with tabs that can weld onto the cell, and solder terminals for your output to the rest of the pack.

They look like an interesting last-ditch cell protection device, along with a good quality balancing BMS that protects the entire pack and has a better low voltage discharge cutoff voltage. I'm a little nervous about the low cell cutoff voltage - seems like 3.2-3.3V would be safer.

Would you build an 18650 battery with these, or are they overkill?
