I can't tell whether or not it's a commercial product or a home-build, but the fire was fairly typical of a LiPo fire. They pull the battery pack out at the end and it looks like a big rectangular LiPo pack.

I realise they were trying everything they could, but with Li-ion fired, there's really not much you can do except let them burn. CO2 extinguishers buy you time while the water supply turns up, and then you just make a colossal mess.

Possible that the fire was caused by the cells being hit harder than they're rated for, or an electrical fault spread to the pouch cells. Either way, great that it happened in the open and nobody got hurt.

By the way - this is an old fire - happened over a year ago. Looks like a home-build

Czech translation:

"What make?"
"German prototype. It was a too big boiler. The world champion is the world champion, no. :)"
