Hello,

Finaly im making 6x battery packs 6s10p for ANR26650m1b. (3.3v, 2.5ah)
Each pack will then be 19.8v and 25ah.

I need to know where and what Components i need to buy to put each pack together. These packs can burst over 750amps and in totalt 120v together in series. So i believe i need to use 50mm2 cables. Im also going to put them in both series and parallel if i want to, so im therefor having 2x bulletsconnector on each positive and negative cable.

And how should i Connect these batteries, does someone have a schema or Picture?

Ok to sum it up :)
- Where can i buy the copper/tin to Connect the batteries together, and how can this be done easily? Must be thick and wide enough to fir the battery Connector under and also whitstand 750amp for 10sec.
- Can i use these to Connect the batteries together?
https://www.banggood.com/26650-Radiating-Shell-ABS-Plastic-Holder-Battery-Pack-Spacer-p-1008127.html?rmmds=buy&cur_warehouse=CN
- If i can use above battery holder, how can i then wrap the pack together and how can i easily Connect each battery With the copper/tin
- I dont want BMS, i want some sort of LIPO alarm to tell me if one of the packs are, where can i buy alarm that can go lower volt than a LIPO alarm?

Any other tip? :)

Thanks alot for the help!

Best Regards

Thomas

A123 a great cell very heavy and big. You need a spot welder many many spot welder diy threads here on E.S. what do you need such a powerful battery for ?

A very powerfull gokart :)

Yes, but where can i buy a cheap spotwelder? And what about all the other items?

Can i use this?

As spotwelder.

There are many many threads on E.S. on many different spot welders. Probably three on the first page of the battery section itself. With all the pros and cons of these different machines you must research and make these decisions yourself. I would start reading and see how well these different styles types spot welders work there are some real s***** Chinese ones that just blow up.

Ill check it out :)

But what should i use to connect these batteries?
And how thick layers of copper/tin do i nees to support 750amp for 10sec. Like 50mm2 cable.

Any good pages i can buy these components?

First read what they are using a microwave Transformer, or a dual pause Android device read up read up on Paul sweet up on time read up on nickel strip tape it's all in there. Just bead enjoying in the right thread there's about 20 of them out there on spot welders in Endless sphere. Alone even more . Hundreds of pages of information already here on endless- sphere
Read read read.

I have A123 20ah piuch cells 4.5 years. 1,138 cycles at up to 90amps. Good cells just don't screw thems up.

I have done that but in one big battery :)

Hey Nux :)

Where can i buy the copper and batteryholders?

Do you think i can use this

Thanks
Thomas :)

Holder source is in my thread, but i think they were reqular ones. For copper I bought 1mx2m and 0,5mm thick sheet and cut out parts in watercutter.

My pack is not welded, I'm using compression only :)

How many layers did you use? Need to support 50mm2

One layer. 0,5mm thick and 10mm wide per cell is series connection. For 10p it makes 50mm2 :)

Ok, so to understand you right. :)
1mm tgick and 10mm wide copper would equal 50mm2?
Can be 2p, 10p heck even 100p :p

0,5mm thick and 10mm wide would equal 5mm2.
But this is for one cell only.
If you put 10 of these in parallel you get 50mm2.
And that is what I have.

So you mean a layer of 10 copper sheets?

Or a long strip consisting of 10 batteries?

It's all in the my build thread ...
Picture is more than 1000 words :D
file.php

I just dont know how one single strip of 0.5mm 10mm copper over 10 batteries can be the same as 50mm2. Wont the amp between two batteries then only be 5mm2. Or is there something i dont understand :p

You need to design your battery for your motor and important your controller and their needs . Meaning if you're going to draw a lot you should spot welder. And if you need more you got to water cool it.
Don't get me wrong I use a 220 amp cell at only 90 amps as it performs well for a long time. Sometimes it's how much money you going to waste. I clip coupons.
Have you priced out the cells the bus bars and the cell holders with the BMS or no BMS but need since wires to monitor cells and need a large capacity battery so you have a good control of Zero voltage. 2.6 volt. Or so ?

I got hold on a Spot Welder and would like to try that combined with nickelstrip.

So will 0.5mm thick nickelstrips be the same as 0.5mm thick copper?
Or do i need more Nickel or less?

Does somebody know how much Nickel (0.15mm thick 10mm wide) i need to make this 6s10p be compared to copper (0.5mm thick 1cm wide / Should equal 50mm2 cable thickness if used as picture bellow)

If i make it the same design as the picture?
