I accidentally left my battery connected for the past three months and consequently it now no longer works. :-(
A company of the above name has some LiFePo4 for sale at what seems a very good price and it has "Rods BMS" incorporated for balancing. No idea how it works but I assume I can always open it and remove it. They advise they think they are 36650 cells which i am totally in ignorance of.
My question is any Oz members ever dealt with them? They've been around since 2007 and appear to have some govt business.
Other question is anyone have any experience with 36650 cells?
Alibaba seem to sell them.
Thanks
Greg

EV power have certainly maintained a reputable commercial business for many years,..mostly servicing the EV conversion sector.
Several ES members have had dealings with them, but i suspect they will be much more known over on the DIY Car forums.
Are you sure that “36650”. Is not a typo ?... and maybe it should read 26650...a much more common cell size ?
However, there is no mention of either size cell on their site.?

..or are you looking at their 12v “battery pack”.. https://evparts.com.au/files/index/download/id/1544070197/
What are you using these batterys for ? Maybe we can suggest some options ?

Yeah I've worked with Rod over the last 9 years or so. Very reputable firm, and decent quality stuff.
I think 36650 is a typo - probably 26650 which is a common format for cylindrical LiFePO4 cells.

I thought it might have been a typo but Alibaba list them. His reply to my query was he "thinks" they are which indicated to me they don't actually assemble them. I have a 24v system so I was considering using 2 of them. At <$300 it seems an attractive proposition. I also am curious about his patented "simple BMS." I like to monitor each bank as I ride and use an iCharger for charging.
I have also been talking to Armin at lifetech on a kit he says he can provide but he hasn't got back to me with any details yet.

A quick google shows they're flat (pouch) cells, not cylindrical like 26650.

https://www.google.com/search?newwindow=1&q=36650+cells&oq=36650+cells

but actually looking at the links finds no flat pouch cells, only cylindrical, so most likely it is a typo in an original source, but then propagated out?

Bought several batches of batteries from ev power over the years, and same with bms's. Always been good transactions.
