So you want to jump into power- assist but have no idea where to start.
My advice to the potential e-biker is to ask yourself the same thing that you ask yourself befor buying a computer. What do I want the machine to do for me? There is little sense in buying killer audio and video cards if you are planning on word processing and reading your e-mail. By the same token, you don't need a killer 750 watt motor, and the latest, and most expensive battery technology to ride 2 miles, 3 times a week.
I had a woman stop me one day who had an upright trike tell me that she had to get 3 or 4 bags of groceries home about 3 miles from the super market once a week, and just needed a little help on a hill going to her home. She asked me if she should get trike like mine. I told her that she didn't need what I had. I am a disabled, handicapped person who cannot drive a car. My trike is my main transportation so my system has to do more than that woman needed.
Are you a zoom head that likes to go fast?
Do you have a long commute without a way to charge your batteries at work?

Are you able to, or even want to pedal?
Do you want to transport heavy or awkward sized cargo?
Are you what could be classified as an oversized individual?
Is your neighborhood very hilly?
Answer these questions, then do a bunch of research befor you start spending money. Have Fun :D
