Yeah I gotta get one of those mounts before they are gone too. Is that left handed control a throttle as well, or just switches and a grip? The harness will give me 88V, and 25AH, with the 9C 2812, and the Lyen controller, I'm shooting for 20MPH for 20 miles, including 20% grades. Turnegy 6sx1p packs, twenty of them for the Spoiler, six for the Stripper which will net me 66V at 10AH, for short runs to the store. Looking forward to hearing about your new motor, and crossing my fingers for good luck Tom!

Ok, the parts from Cali are IN! A whole months pay, and an extra day in transit, but the Spoiler tourqe arms are COMPLETE. The brake plates will need trimming but I believe I can make them work. There's too much material arround the caliper mount holes. I specified a half inch, and that's exactly what I got! I meant to say 1/4 inch, so now I gotta cut em, bummer, but that's far better than I was expecting. If I had been more acurate, that wouldn't have happened. As it was, the two measurements I guesstimated on one plate, turned out to be perfect. So, a minor setback will be dealt with soon. Hearty thanks for cool hand Justin! Magudaman beat the local shop boys with weeks to spare, and even improved the end result with superior knowledge, and service. Now if I can just get the battery box to go the same way...

Image

The clamps line up perfectly to the legs on the tourqg arms. They fit the frame tubes just right, with no rubber bushing, and that must be due to the curvature. I recently got a PM from a reader asking what combo I used to get the controller to work with the 9C hub, so I must add that NONE of this stuff has been hooked up yet. The batteries I bought, got sold to another member, because they would have been sitting too long, waiting for me to finish a bike. I guess that means I'm headed for trouble already, All I can say is, "When I find out the answer, I'll let ya know!"

Nice to know Sangesf. I always fancied turning my spoiler into a trike. Will keep watching for pics and any info.

Brian.
That grip is just for Lights/Horn/Indicators. Someone made a mistake and I got sent 2 of them :)

Bad news on the motor front. I got a mate to order me up a 2000watt motor from superkids.

Wow price went up! Anyhow if you really want the motor really bad have someone in the USA order it and then for basically $65usd more have them ship it to Scotland. I'm might be down for that, I might talk to superkids see if they would drop the price a little if I ordered two. I've been waiting to get another one of these babies!

There you go Tom, where there's a will there's a way. I would aee about helping you also, but I already promised to pay the machine shop in Feb, for steel parts like the ones in the above pic. Sangsf, I'm not very interested in triking my OCC, but yeah, let us in on the skinny there dude! If I ever get a ground floor storage area, I will be interested for sure. Gotta carry it down and up a flight of stairs here. So weight is a issue, as well as size. I want to trike it, but I can't get away with it just yet. Gosh I like the way the XL trikes look, I wish I could get one with a springer front end, and rear swing arm. 8)

Today I tried to save a buck and some time, by mod'ing the brake plates from Cali. I figured I could do one easy, and go from there later. Well it wasn't perfect, but it did go well enough that I kept cuttin. What I ended up with was a butt load of aluminum dust all over my vise, table, etc. Oh yeah, and two parts that fit! I was gonna ship em back out to the man for trimming, but I just couldn't stomach saying goodbye to them so soon. I just hope Magudaman can forgive me for hacking up his work. Yup, I took a new hacksaw blade to milled parts! Not bad for an hour and a half worth of work. Now it's time to see what the local tallent has for me in steel. I hope you get what you need Tom!

Time for another update to the Spoiler Saga. This may not quit meet the bike parts criteria, but it makes the work go faster on the PC, and therefore helps out. I found this keyboard while searching Google for a backlit keyboard. Sold at Newegg and under the $50. price mark, I couldn't resist, and now I couldn't be happier.

Not sure if i am who you were emailing with about the trike rear end? i sent a reply and never heard back
I had 10 rear kits made to fit the occ chopper so they wouldnt have to be cut and re welded they bolt right up
but china sent chrome axles so they need a bearing swap or non chrome axle I have a few I would part with if anyones
interested should fit the spoiler as well Its just the rear assembly with axle an sproket No Wheels

On another note i discovered the xtreme xb600 rear 600watt wheel fits the occ perfect i still need a controller
and lots of other parts for that project though thinking maybe a A2B front end need a shorter crank ? it sits low

Yeah that probably was me that wrote ya. Sounds familliar, and I am interested, but I need to finish the basic project first, before I try to add extra wheels and weight to it. Don't be surprised if I yell at ya in a few months, after you get rid of them, that's my luck ya know. I'm hoping JRH, and Farfle are still in business when I finally get some extra cash, as I need to have my 5x12 modded, and laced into a fatter chrome rim sooner or later. Next month I hope to get some batteries and a frame bag for the OCC bike, and get in some seat time. If HK jacks up the cost of lipo it will be fall before I see any.

Here's an update for those wondering what happened to my project. The bike buildup is on hold while I purchase and get my old van back on the road.
Image
I will try to squeeze something in to help things along, so the mods wont think this has become a van restoration thread! Lord knows it's in rough shape. I recently aired up the bike tires with an automotive valve extender. The blue air can chuck kept pushing the valve back into the rim, making it impossible to inflate the tube. The extension prevents that. Been fighting a huge clot in my right leg all winter, still have swelling in my foot, but making progress. Hope everyone had a greay Memorial Day weekend. I got to watch the Indy 500 from my PC! You can see a full replay now on ESPN 3.

So two days ago I ordered a frame bag from http://us.itselectric.ca/product_p/bag- ... ontbag.htm to get things rolling again. Turns out the van is a lot worse off than I hoped it would be. Back to finishing what I started. In a few weeks I will hopefully again be ordering from HK, unless a better source for batts opens up.

And here it is! not so big as I thought it might be. I musta read the measurements on the site wrong, cause I thought it would fill the hole, NOT! It looks positively lost in the frame, doesn't it? Looks like it might hold a six pack of 6s bricks, mabye even eight. That would get me to the store and back.

I posted a thread in the Wanted to Buy section concerning my need for harness extensions to go between my controllers and the 9C hubmotors on my bike. Below I will post pics to show the issues, and anyone with sources for these connectors please feel free to sound out. I am going to ask a member I know if he can make these extensions for me, as I am disabled. Anyone who feels competent with this job, or knows a source of complete cables, please sound off! First, the controllers.
Image

I need three sets of harnesses, or two adapters to fit a single cable. Next post will show the wheel side. Although I believe everyone knows what comes out of a 9C.

Finally here's what my 9C hubs have.

Image

I am trying to set up a harness that will allow me to switch between all three controllers, due to failure, power, and battery considerations These harnesses will need to be two feet long. The phase wires should be at least as big as what comes out of Lyens controllers. I have his 66v, and 88v controllers, as well as an older 48v unit that I will use as my startup unit.

So you need 2 full sets of adapter cables to allow you to use 2 different controllers with the same 9C depending on the situation?

I just make a new adapter harness for an Ebikes.ca controller to my e-bikekit.com geared hub, and might be of some help. Issue might be getting all of those connectors.

I have a bunch of them, but the colored andersons are definitely a no. I could use black and red for you with tape or shrink to identify the colors. Not promising anything, but PM me and we might be able to work something out.

Three different controllers, so it would either be three harnesses, or one, with two adapters, sorry for the confusion. I'm not picky about the color of the andersons, as long as I can determine the wire color for phase setup. Thank you very much for your reply. I am currently awaiting a reply from another member about this. I will let you know as soon as I hear from them. I wonder if it wouldn't just be easier to send the controllers back for modification so they are the same.

I finally heard back from Ice, he said he will build my cables for me. Thanks to Ohzee Cat and everyone else who tried to help me out, you are all awesome folks indeed. As an aside, I made a mistake. When I took the pic of the 88v controller harness, I shot the black programming connector instead of the white hall connector. Turns out all three controllers have the same hall connector wired identically, so that reduces the work load, and means I only need five cables instead of six. Sorry about the confusion there.

OH YEAH!!! Wire porn, suitable for heavy usage, and ambidextras as a Russian Gymnast! Right from the workbench of the builder in Cali, bubble wrapped [twice,] and here within the same week. Now all I need is the power leads for the big 18 fet, and I'm ready for batteries.
