140 amps on a rc car

I liked the videos. it was fun to watch!

But yeah indeed from the looks of it, those batteries get a lot more of a hammering in a rc car! :D

The controller worked ok on my way back and everything seemed normal. I peaked at 38mph on my way home.

You are running 1P on 5ah ? that is bound to be hard on them ?

I miss the extra few mph that the 120% setting gave me, but That doesn't work without halls, so I might fix them up properly.

You really should program your controller, you will get a fair bit more torque from it! I would love to compare it to the crystalyte motors! The mac is an animal altogether, but it's going to be a while for cell-man to get back to me to advise me on what to do!

Here is my settings, do you know if you have the EB2xx or 3xx controller ?

I copied almost all of your settings and Damn!! I pop wheelies now.

nice, 38 mph is fast.

Have you done many runs with the new settings ? it working ok on the higher voltage ?

I messed around with the CA and it rides smooth. Just the throttle issue once in a while.

Hi snellemin,

How's things ? are you still enjoying the extra torque since you turned it up ?

I'm pulling 5kw on acceleration now and it's so addictive, I see just over 7kw peaks on the cycle analyst, 120 amps!

I beefed up the controller and it has not burned anything yet as those currents are pulled only for a few seconds during 0-28 mph, but 80 amps and 120 peak is impressive form the 12 fet! :D

I do miss the extra 5mph or so that I got from having halls with the 120 % setting in the controller.

I'm still getting the god awful vibration at full throttle after a few mph, it goes away after I've used the bike a while, very strange!

Still enjoying the Torque. But I'm going to swap over my setup into my EVG bike. I'll put the ebay kit back on the current bike to pull the kids trailer around.

Hi Snellemin!

Are you still pushing the Magic Pie to the limits? How has it done?

I'm still fighting between Mid drive and Hub Motor. lol

Had some time today and swapped over my stuff into my EVG bike. Running on 24s2p A123 and goes about 33mph. Still need to solder up the brake interrupt wires and add the lights.

I just started running 15s2p lipo's in this bike, maxes @ 31mph or so. Feels very comfortable at that speed. Also installed the 11-28T 7 speed freewheel. Cleaned up the wiring and hooked up a 3 speed tiny switch on the side. Settings are 50%, 80% and 99%. The 50% speed setting maxes out at 19mph, making me legit in an instant.

Legit! :P lol Very nice build!
I've Subscribed to this thread and been following.
30mph seem like a nice top speed as I've been there several times ;)
A short wheel base and steering rake of a bicycle starts to get interesting at
higher speeds. Have you seen the thread with the dual rear pie?
That was innovated for sure.

How are you liking the pie? and what controller are you using?

Hey Tommy, I did see the dual pie rear hub mod. I can only imagine needing velcro on pants and seat to keep me on the bike. That's just crazy.

I continued one the EVG bike in this thread....http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37480
