I think it´s time to open a thread that should include everything the beginner should know for getting started with solid works. Cardboard aided design is always an option but the true enthusiast needs a little help using modern technology. So maybe the pro´s here are so kind as to share links, knowledge and all the tweaks and tricks with the rest. Who knows, in the end cool bikes will pop up like never before. :)

Not to hijack your thread AT ALL, just let me suggest that noone wait until they can afford Solidworks.

It's a LOT easier to learn a 2nd 3D package than it is a 1st, so if you download Google Sketchup now, you can get started. Solidworks will do a lot more for you when you're ready.

I'm hoping to start a class in Solidworks next January, provided there's still room when it's my turn to register. The teacher is a man popularly known as. . . BORAT!
