Hello, i am a long time lurker here. I am an engineer and design battery-powered industrial load-moving devices.

I am designing a new product and the customer is requesting a finger-squeeze throttle. I have looked online and only see the thumb-type throttles.
Ideally, I would like to use a simple 3-wire 5K pot type. I am picturing a lever like a BMX bike brake lever. This lever woul be mounted on the bottom of the handlebar and the operator of the device could grasp the control handle while facing the device or facing away from the device. He would pull upwards on the throttle lever. I hope that makes sense...

Does anyone know where to find such a throttle??
Any help is most appreciated.

why not run a cable to a little box with the potmeter ?

see towards the bottom of the first post:

It works very well by the way, hasn't given me any problems in the 3500km that I've used this.

i like that idea, i don't have to use one of the crappy chinese throttle controls.

Thanks for that suggestion.
It is something that I am considering.
An 'off-the-shelf' unit would be nice though if anyone has a lead on one.

I too am looking for a trigger throttle and just got a reply from these folks who claim they have them. I don't know but they responded and the triggers are cheap. We will see.

Also you might want to check this out. Seems great if it is developed.

Hey docnjoj,
Thanks for that info! Do you have any technical info on that trigger throttle? I did not see anything obvious on their website.
I did see thumb type throttles.

Bladez made what you want. Production stoped a few years back, and they are hard to find here is one, but show no stock

Thanks for the input.
That Bladez model is kinda what I was searching for - but not really available anymore.
I guess I will start looking at using a pot actuated with a bike brake lever + cable.

Their "PLEASE DONT BUY OUR STUFF" banner at the top doesn't necessarily inspire confidence...

Yeah I saw that too. That's why I asked for an invoice first. No word back.
Oh well.
