Noob to brushless. Need help.

Using a Kelly KBS48121 and a 750W Ebikekit.com motor.

Can't seem to find a working combo. Anyone have this one?

Thanks

That has a "High pedal protection: Disable operation if power up with non-zero throttle." Sometimes that might cause no combo to work if you have the throttle type wrong. Probably is made or programmed for pot throttle, if using a hall it won't be zero volts output like it would with a pot, even at zero throttle.

Trying to figure out the wiring: GoldenMotor 1000w Brushless Motor to Infineon EB809XC-A-12 Controller.

I connected all the halls and phase, color to color and I got nothing.

I read that maybe the wires should be like this?

Halls

Infineon---GM
Black >>> Black
Yellow >>>Blue
Blue >>> Yellow
Green >>>Green
Red >>> Red

Phase

Infineon-----GM
Yellow >>> Blue
Blue >>> Yellow
Green >>>Green

Sounds like you hooked the throttle into the programmer cable. There is no white on the infineon throttle input (typically). Where did you get the controller?

Nobody?

Does anybody know then if the wiring for Crystalite 4 series is the same as for Crystalite 5 series, as we have the wiring for infineon to 5304 on this thread already... (really don't want to dig out the fuses and spreadsheet again!)

motor Crytalyte 504
controller Kelly KBS72101
Matching the colors just made it go backwards
After finding this thread I found this which was the closest to my config. So I matched the phases name (not pin numbers as there different)

It seems to work.
Is there a number of combination that work and only one that works perfectly?
As the motor seems a bit gutless to what I thought it would be. As this is my first e-bike I have no reference of "guts" to motors.
I will reprogram the controller to see if I have limited the current to much or something.

edit
I have since found I had the battery current was set at 20%, so I will test it out latertoday

I would also like to know this. I am experiencing the 'no guts' feeling on my 48v kit. Although free-wheeling it can reach up to 60kph, once i sit and go for a ride, it is embarrassingly slow.
It very well could be my controller setup.
How did you know that your current was set at 20%?

With my controller http://kellycontroller.com/KBShelp.php
I set the motor current to 20% as the controller is 100A and the motor is 20A so 20%
But I also set the battery to 20% where it should be 100%
I have not proved this as I have not had the time to take it for a good spin.

Cheers.
As far as i can tell, there are 3 combinations that work and all the others either go backwards, run rough or don't go at all. Those 3 combinations that work are all the same as far as performance goes.
Unless someone can correct me.

A Fusin geared hubmotor on a Lyen 6FET; forward-rotating combination I found (phases and halls are the same):
Fusin Lyen
B G
G Y
Y B

Wiring BB YY GG will work, too, but it runs backwards. If you have the version with no freewheel, this is fine, but if you have the freewheel version it won't move the bike. ;)

Do the ecitypower controllers still have the programming loop? It's two white wires coming out of the controller that can plug together.

If so, hook up the phase and hall wires matching the colors, then plug the white loop together. Next hook up power to the controller and the motor should spin forward slowly. If it does then power down the system and unplug the white loop and you should be set.

If it spins backward or you can hear the motor turning internally with no movement then you power it back down. Once powered back up it should spin forward slowly, if it does then power the controller down again and unplug the white loop. Should be good to go.

If they don't have the programming loop anymore then no idea sorry. :(

9c controller to 9c motor(?)

Postby pdf » Wed Mar 09, 2011 5:27 pm

I have a 9c controller, 36v, 27 amps, and a 9c motor. Both have male plugs (??) for what I assume are the hall sensors, black, blue, green, yellow, red. The connector is a 5 pin linear arrangement. There are also two identical connectors coming from the controller with two female three pin terminals but only two are connected to wires; the wires on both are black and yellow. There are also a black wire and white wire, each with its own one pin connector, one female, one male, that are plugged into each other. My questions are:

1) If I am correct about the hall terminals, does anyone know of a female-female sex-swapping jumper to switch one of the male to female? The controller came with an extension, but it is male on one end and female on the other
Otherwise, I have to find this exact connector and cut and remake one female or cut off both and use a 5 pin connector I can get locally.

2) Does anyone know what the other connections are for, that is the two two-pins with black and yellow leads or the black and white connected together? The controller label says: "Function: Automatic cruise, E-ABS, Energy feedback, Mute" I'm guessing the two two-pins are for the e-ABS. Not sure what the black, white connected pair are for.
