It seems like there are a lot of different connectors out there, both in commercial ebikes and the DIY segment.

Only a few of them are mentioned in the wiki article:
http://www.endless-sphere.com/w/index.php/Connectors

Are there any comprehensive summaries of the different types of connectors used in ebikes? (either threads or other websites)

I'm asking this because I have a motor with plugs that I have no idea what they are called, but it would be nice to see the range of plugs that are commonly used.

Anything look familiar to you here : http://electricscooterparts.com/whitewiringconnectors.html ? For motors the 6 pin connecter is common for the 5 hall wires. And the 3 phase wires are bullet, or anderson power pole.

The plug in question is a black 8 pin plug with halls and phases in the same plug.

It doesn't seem to be compatible with any of those typical Chinese white plugs that I've seen on ebike kits.

It's what I call a 9-pin connector and they come with the kits offered by the major Chinese vendors, like BMS Battery, Elifebike, ect.
They are available as solo male'female pairs and are only a few bucks, but shipping with be 10 times that.
I have never seen them except from these Vendors.
I like them. They are small, water-proof and fine up to 1200 or so Watts.

I'm not so concerned with this plug, if I can find better alternatives, the 9 pin round plug mentioned above looks quite nice, I'll try to find a place that doesn't charge ridiculous shipping fees.
