I am working on building an inductor ( choke coil) fo rthe Adaptto controller charge option.

I just wonder witch way is better if i want to use multiple parallel strands

. LItz wire or not? ( a stranded wire with individually insulated conductors (forming a bundle)

Is it better to twist the multi parallel strand bundle (litz wire) prior to install it on the core or not to twist the bundle of wire and just turn them on the coil?

These wires in the bundle are twisted together (Litz)

In this exemple these are not ( like in our hub motor):

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the picture of the twisted bundle, there's a lot of gaps and irregularities, which could result in flux leakage. I'd think that wrapping individual strands would make it easier to make the wraps tighter and cleaner, confining more of the field to the core. Just like stator teeth, right?

If you plan to use the choke just for charging you can probably skip the litz wire. If you wanna run very high frequency current continously perhaps you need it, depending on your cooling.
