In the upper right corner there is a search box, just beneath it there is a 'Using google search?" check box, be sure to do searches both with and without this check box checked as the results will be considerably different but both potentially interesting. Before starting threads or maybe even making a comment on a thread asking questions I suggest doing 10 minutes of searching on a subject. A lot of questions come up repeatedly on this forum so I am hoping that by saying this enough the hijacking/derailing as well as redundant threads slows down a bit.

Search using keywords (mac grinding) from your subject line.

I did a search and still can not find a strip down. Trouble is with my motor is has been messed and bodged up on the other side. Take a look https://goo.gl/photos/67kAFGSvpZZFnFJr9 . I am guessing I need to undo them screws to split the magnet housing, for the winding? to see if I can replace what ever is worn. If that is the case, I think it is game over, as all that expoy is holding in board and hall sensors.. and to chip at that is just going to dislodge something.

I will order another Mac unless anybody recommends another motor that is better and a reasonable price. Live in the UK

Getting back to your issue with "hijacking/derailing" You need to flush out all the posts that have no relevance for people like me for future reference. Dont know how you would go about it, but it sure would make searching a lot easier. You know the ones that are relevant (as you send links in posts on all topics) so can you not flag them so they come to the top off the searches first? instead of posts like mine and others "stupid hijacking/derailing" ones.

Right on, nothing wrong with passing along advice to newbies becoming skilled in searching, I make this post when I see a low post count and a question I've seen several times before on this forum.

Have you asking your questions directly to whoever you purchased your motor from? I wouldn't be surprised if you purchased this motor from em3ev.com, they are known for great customer service.

There are Mac teardown threads,,,,somewhere.

But to open your motor, simply remove the screws, and a lock nut on the axle.

Once inside, a grinding noise might be the gears. Taking the core apart is a lot of (spring type) lock rings. So you will need a set of lock ring pliers.

The only thing I can see is the play between shaft and bearing https://goo.gl/photos/ZdFbQq8TTSbgU2hN7 . Is it meant to be like this? It was running like it and can play can be seen when fully assembled https://goo.gl/photos/zGnWB9U23jpH7SpK9.

A other party has had motor in pieces before so am not sure if this has not been assembled correctly and no other threads give me the information to see if this play is OK?

Need some more pics. You say someone else had it apart and now it doen;t work or it stopped working and you took it apart?
In the one video it looks different than my MACs,
First video it sounded like it had wrong phase/hall combo.

As BOS said you can search but you need to use the Google option to get anywhere.

By your comment teardown/stripdown you are not in the states. You should fill in your profile as to where you are located, it does help.

Have torn/ stripped a few MACs/BMCs most were for gears but a few were Hall replacement. best way to get to them is with a heat gun to soften the epoxy and then you can peal it off.

this is the 'new' mac. it has drilled yoke. and it is different in some other parts than the 'regular' mac of which you can find many repair threads.
i have one here as well and thought i could use it as replacement for my mid drive. but i can't.
i will look at your videos tomorrow. maybe i can help. but as far as i remember this wobble where you move the yoke around is ok for this motor.

Done a rebuild. The grinding has gone, but motor is stalling, then the humming. Spin wheel backwards and yet can get motor revving correctly. Soon as under load motor does the above again. I go over a bump and it kicks in, then loses it again. Its the hall sensors.

As you can see from the my pictures it has been proper "bodged". On build, sprung washers are missing.The body filler! is coming off and with that the hall sensors and board are coming loose. Hence the first "grinding"

What I am going to do is get Circuit board. (as cracked), Complete set off washers/circlips and the Hall sensor's from EMV3v and get them properly set in with epoxy.

Now I know to search with better results, using the "Google search". Would it not be better to set as default? as I have seen other members being told off
