To make it easy to set up to run on that particular motor, look for one that has the self study, or self learning feature. You connect two wires, let the controller study the motor, then unplug them and it will run with the correct phase order. Without self learning, you have to try 36 combinations to find the one that runs the motor.

Maybe this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/36V-350W-17A-Brushless-Motor-Controller-for-Electric-Bike-Bicycle-Scooter-/272338728422?epid=1770064110&hash=item3f68a735e6:g:7R4AAOSw8gVYBcFI

Hi dogman dan

Does the Motor controller include self-study or self-learning feature?
I need some documentation! And should drive with 48V

Wish the Motor controller can withstand 50V- 55V Max when I use Li Ion Battery as:

The motor will handle that voltage just fine. It will just spin faster, which may or may not be something you like. But it won't damage the motor... that mostly comes from the heat of running lots of amps thru it, not so much from volts. Anyway, a so called 48v battery (these days usually 13 groups in series) actually goes to 54.6 volts fully charged.

I've been running my motor from a 48volt system at 72v for 10,000+ miles now..

Thanks for the answer.

It does not matter that the Hub wheel is running a bit fast
Can the engine controller including withstand max 55Vdc while Hub wheel user 48V.
Web-ling: http://www.ebay.com/itm/272338712389 I just want to be safe in the middle of buying;)

Technical description:
The wheel is with 18 stator and 10 pairs of magnets, which consist of 20 magnets.
I just want to be sure before I buy.
I just want to be sure before I buy that Motor controller can be used with 18 stator and 10 pairs...

Hello everyone
Have a 4 wheeled wagon which, I want Motor to drive direction CW and CCW.

I just want to be sure before I buy that Motor controller can be used with 18 stator and 10 pairs... and CW and CCW.

Is there anyone here that can help me find a Brushless DC Motor Controller for the description above..

Question for you:

How fast do you want to go?

According to the spec sheet you posted above, it's going to spin at 1000RPM at 48V. That's a very fast speed.

Based on the pic of the motor/wheel, I'm guessing it's at most a 16" wheel? If so, that's over 45MPH.

If it's a 10" wheel, that's almost 30MPH.

If it's not either of those diameters, you can use the formula 3.14 * (inflatedwheeldiameter) * 1000RPM = distance (in inches) travelled in one minute. Then you can use an online converter (or manually calculate) for MPH (or KPH), by converting inches to miles (or kilometers) and minutes to hours.

If you don't want it to go as fast, you can either use a lesser voltage battery, or you can limit throttle maximum so you're simply never applying the full potential speed of the motor at the higher battery voltage.

That one has self study. the one you linked I can't tell.. don't buy one that does not say has self study.

Any bike or scooter motor controller will run your motor.

48v controllers have an absolute max voltage of 63v. A few might be 60v, but most will be 63. 48v batteries charge to 54.6v. 52v batteries charge to 58.8v.

You are going to have a wagon that goes much faster than you can walk. If you load it heavy, and run it very slow, it can overheat the motor. But likely you will not have more load on it than 300 pounds, and on flat ground, it should be ok. You might just have to tone down the amps of the controller, if its too much to handle. This is easy to do, clipping one of the two shunts inside the controller will half its power. I think you will only need about 300w to walk with it, loaded to 1-200 pounds.

To dogman dan
Sure an error I have made turns is max 100 Rrmp.

Sorry very much
