Hi, i accidentally shorted my thumb throttle, and let the magic smoke out. Now to my question, is it a specific hall sensor for the throttles or can i just order some sensors like this and expect it to work?

Thanks!

There are probably many that would work, but you need the right type. The ones found in motors, for example, would not work.

You want a linear, ratiometric sensor with a gauss range of about +/- 1000.
A Honeywell SS49E or SS496B should work. It would be best to look up the number on the old one to see what the specs were and try to match them.

Thanks for the answer!
Unfortunately was the hall to burnt so i couldn't get the specs of it:/ Will try the SS49E, was so cheap so its not a problem if it doesn't work out!

SS49E 1,2USD (10 pcs)
SS496B 11USD (10pcs)

The whole throttle is not very expensive in most cases too.

We'd be guessing at the Gauss range. If the range is wrong, the throttle active range might change. Most of the ones I've seen have a pretty high range, like 750 to 1000. One that has a range of 5 Gauss probably won't work acceptably.

Yeah i know, but also fun to repair stuff:) The SS49E that i order'd has a gauss range of 650-1000 so i will try that.

Thanks for the info!

BTW, there's at least two other threads about replacing throttle hall sensors, if the info helps:
