I guess i really should come to one of these to introduce myself and meet fellow electrics. Unfortunately, I am working on the 21st, and doubt my 10ah battery would keep up with everyone.
Have fun, I look forward to watching the videos.

I should be good for the 21st

Run into shorza this morning. Conveniently right next to a velodrome. We swapped bikes and done a couple of laps - your bike goes well! Hyena's 200W sticker is a nice touch 8)

Also run into another e-biker on Fri night, hopefully he can find this thread and join us.

Count me in.

I vote heading out the Yarra Trail but rather than doing a long range ride, we stick in close around Yarra Bend and get full-throttle to show us some of the single track stuff. This will motivate me enough to get my full suspension bike up and running again, so I can play with some off-road stuff. Will give people a chance to see what off-road ebiking is about, rather than commuter style riding.

Maybe grab something to eat at the boathouse.

No monster yet ;)

I'll be riding my commuter or something else. If the spokes arrive in time and the bike survives the weekend prior to the ride

Good idea! If we head upstream from the boathouse people can do either path or singletracks - they run next to each other. When we come back could hit more technical tracks. Most of the tracks are on the eastern banks, then change over to the other side just before Burke Rd and back again further up.

How about the usual meet at Fed square for those training it in, then head along the Yarra to the Boat House at Yarra Bend, and meet up with the rest that live out East or drive in. Then follow full-throttles plan above. This leaves maximum watt-hours for the fun stuff.

Looks like I better hit up Hobby King for my 20s LiPo pack.

Gents,
my bike has issues inside the crank case - she cannot take any more power captain! I was gonna nurse it thru but the power is just slipping too much now.
New parts from Italy will take a few weeks.

I'm not gonna be able to make the ride, but I think you should still do it before the weather gets shite!
Please go ahead and don;t forget to post video, (please!)

This fits in with Sam's train trip from Ballarat.

Awesome autumn day in Melbourne.

BenMoore and myself rode from inner north to Federation Square, where we met up with AussieRider and kiqnkf. While waiting for ElectricEd we witnessed an interesting phenomenon
eureka1.jpg
eureka1.jpg (87.73 KiB) Viewed 433 times
eureka2.jpg
eureka2.jpg (92.89 KiB) Viewed 433 times

then rode to Port Melbourne and along the beach to St Kilda. No women's beach volley this time  but plenty of stunt riding by kiqnkf on his new Stealth Bomber
While getting snacks at a servo kiqnkf helped not one but two desperate drivers with their cars :)

By then Ben had to turn around, so I left as well and we had a rather scary ride along Chapel St

Cool photo.

You rode down Chapel St. Pretty narrow road, with too many car doors for my liking. Not to mention the constant distraction of short skirts. Last time I was there, I was having a beer at Bridie O'Reilly's and saw a guy get doored. Ended up on the road, luckily the car behind him had time to stop, or he would have got run over. Scary how quickly a ride can turn nasty.

Another great social ride. kcqnkf & I rode on to Mentone via the Beach road. 33km & my SLAs were done. A big improvement over the last batts that only gave 13km but still, kcqnkf was only down to about 60%! On the way back at a rest stop, who should come the other way but Nicko 20km from home & going strong on his 2WD folder with trailer. What are the odds? We really got lucky with the perfect weather for the whole day. Keep the EV grin until the next ride.
