Hi Folks:

Ebikes and other forms of human-powered transportation are welcome at this open road event in Central California (about 1 hour's drive south of San Jose, 6 hours north of Los Angeles). Ride 100 miles or 100 kilometers. Please see details at the following link:

Now is the time to work on your bike's aerodynamics and pedaling ergonomics and to work off those extra pounds (or to keep them from accumulating over the holidays). Since we run on open roads and are insured as a bicycle event, please note the few restrictions on hybrid-electric ebikes at the link above. I hope to see some interesting ebikes there in February and to see some of the prior years' participants.

One of these years I'm going to do this ride.

So do the ebikes leave after the fast riders, or just before?

Officially, you can leave anytime between 0800 and 0930, but if you have a fast rig, you're better leaving closer to 1000. That way you hit the checkpoints when they're staffed and ready.

Hope you can make it this year.

Here's a reminder that the MegaMonster is upon us soon.

Come on out and put your e-bike through its paces on a hundred miles or a hundred kilometers of clean open road that runs most of the way through varied terrain atop the San Andreas Fault in central California with little traffic and no stop signs.

I hope to meet some E-S'ers in Paicines a week from tomorrow!

See the links at the top of this thread for more information.

Folks:

Here's a link to my blog entry on the MegaMonster Enduro ride last Saturday in Central California.

E-bikers in attendance were Yours Truly and Edward Lyen. I hope to see some of you at next year's event.
