i'd love to make a good promo viddie. i wonder if there are rc helis big enough to carry the red one camera? could do some michael bay-ish chase scenes with that rig. there's a lot of stuff you can do on-the-cheap using today's technology.

i got it into my head to mount an xbox kinect on my bike and use the depth map to recognize objects as i ride. then i could have my own ironman HUD slash target acquisition system!

marky mark can star as me in my video--"Dirk Diggler Does Dogati!"

i'm a little sad to say mr Marky's ppl have respectfully declined citing reasons of "incongruous ethnicity" (a polite way of saying he's white and i'm yello). however, they agreed to let me use the D.D. moniker if i changed the title to "Dogati Style starring Dirk Diggler". they offered up Lloyd (entourage) for the male lead. i told em i'd get back to them (i won't)

Finished cutting the 16S termination block for the A123 15Ah prismatic pack. Size is 320 x 60 x 40 mm. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This type of plastic is a bit harder than delrin and less prone to strip threads (and it comes in grey).

Burrrr...lotsa burrs:

Did you ever learn the name of the plastic?

Here are defiantly heli's that can carry a 10-lbs camera like it's nothing. :) Trex-700 is one (electric version of course). :) You don't want to get started in that hobby though if you want to get anything else done in life. lol

sharpening up the corners with a 3mm end mill. the cells are packed tightly together (with the foil edges compressed) so that they don't shift around and stress out the tabs. it's a tight fit so every mm counts.

16 cells laced up (8s + 8s bridged by that long bus bar).

motoczysz inspired side panel. 1.5mm perforated aluminum panel--light-weight and provides some degree of bash protection.

the 8ga mains are clamped by the buss-bars directly down on the foil tabs (the most robust solution i could think of that would fit within the limited space). couldn't route/fit proper connectors into the termination block so instead they are routed to the end cap on the other side.

and...the end cap on the other side. i tried to keep it Zen--nothing but the power-poles. zen-d-cap?

the 45A power-poles are doubled up for more pleasure. still need to cut slots and spaces for the balance taps, fuses and whatever else i can mount.

for those with a bionic eye for eye-sores, you'll notice a broken tap in there (don't ask me how i could break an M4 tap in plastic)

Awesome! Pure battery porn

It would be useful to drive the EL panels off the shunts to help dissipate the power during balancing  Maybe not practical, but a cool thought.

Are the CellLogs just for checking voltages or are you using them actively?
