Hi Guys,

This will be my first e-build, I have been an avid mountain biker for over 20 years and have worked as a guide and instructor in Vermont USA and a bike mechanic for a few years in the mid ‘90s. I am now a family man living in Northern New Jersey USA (15 miles west of NYC) and still enjoy riding bikes very much; alone, with friends and with the kids, mostly off road.

2 things that excited me about ebikes:

Speed & power!!! need I say more, my top speed on a pedal bike was ~50mph, down an very steep hill, pedaling, and I did that a few times…..great rush, lots of fun…thinking the whole time, don't crash, don't crash, don't crash! 20-30mph sustained on a bike will be awesome!

New bicycle technology; from my perspective most bicycle advances are material related (Alu. alloy, titanium, carbon, etc) or new configurations (mountain bike, BMX, time trial, etc). Yes, I will give you suspension, 9/10/11 speed cassettes, etc. but in my mind those were not really game changers, only evolved systems to make riding better/faster/ more comfortable. Riding dynamics were not really changed that much, pedal really hard and you will go fast! Adding a high power, lightweight, electric dive to a bicycle is a potential game changer, it is wholly something new and unique.

In summary, I think its cool.

My goals are:

FUN, Fast, light street bike
Learn electric drive technology and systems
Detailed examination of riding dynamics pre and post drive install
Exceptional handling and ride-ability
Keep it as “bicycle” as possible
As many black parts as possible!
Clean build!

Cost, comfort and riding range are secondary, but will be considered.
