rear wheel pit bike hub specifics

Hello,
building 17inch rear wheel for mid drive therefore looking to buy rear wheel hub.
Found two hubs which might be an option for the build, but one looks not familiar to me. Spokes are displaced quite differently than I would expect in strong wheel set, but maybe it is opposite than what I think. Both hubs are standart pit bike hubs, 32 spokes, around 136mm width.

Hub in first pic has narrow spokes holes and that's what looks as a weaker wheel compared with hub in second pic with wider spokes displacement.
